We had the good fortune of connecting with Regina Whitaker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Regina, what are you inspired by?
I am inspired by God to help others. During my childhood years, I experienced some childhood traumas and through my experience, I have helped others on how to cope or direct them to seek help (counseling, therapy, etc..). Also, by being transparent and authentic, those who are suffering can see and hear that there is a way out and that healing is possible.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
There are many passions that I have been blessed with. There are two (2) that have the most impact on my life. I am the Podcast Host of Face II Face and I am a published Author of “A Father’s Love”. My good friend and Christian brother Gerald Persons and I, began Face II Face Podcast on December 5, 2021, with no formal training. What sets us apart from other Podcasters is that we discuss/engage in Christian/religious topics that are taboo. We discuss real-life issues with transparency as well as provide biblical truths and/or scriptures. I am a Christian/believer and have experienced issues & struggles within the church, survived domestic violence and sexual assault. Through my experiences, I can help others navigate through their healing process. The podcast allows the viewers to engage, create an awakening, and with some, affirm what they have been experiencing–and they are not alone. Face II Face provides solutions for every discussion that is presented. It is up to the viewers/audience to receive. Our motto is, “If we can help just one person”, we have done what we are called to do- to SERVE one another!

My book, “A Father’s Love”-Memoir was published & released in May 2023. A coming-of-age memoir that speaks on relationships, religion, and restoration. In this book, I detail the stages of early adolescence to my teenage years, which came with opportunities for exploring, learning self-reliance, and making mistakes along the way. My relationship with other teens and my faith in God are discussed. The book details my journey of how I went from Catholicism to Pentecostal, how I struggled with the religion that I was brought up in until I was given the option of choosing to stay in the Catholic faith or take on what was different to my immediate family, under the tutelage of my aunt.

I was privileged to have both parents in the home. Both have shaped my life and I am grateful. My book emphasizes when I relocated and re-established myself and my family in another state. We have moments when we doubt our next move and are uncertain about the future but I didn’t stop at the status quo, I desired to better myself and have an opportunity for my children to have something different. I recalled the scripture, Joshua 1:9 KJV, “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” I took God at His word, left Connecticut, and moved to Texas. At a young age, I trusted God and didn’t look back. Every area of my life was strategically planned because of my Heavenly Father’s Love.

New beginnings can be frightening. To reset, you must be truthful with yourself about the areas in your life that need a RESET and why. With God, faith, and family, I overcame obstacles that were presented while putting my life back together. Throughout childhood to adulthood, God has always remained faithful. God presented Himself many times when my biological father couldn’t help. It was, is now, and will always be, “A Father’s Love,” even when I didn’t see it! I encourage you to read the book and take God at His Word for every area of your life.
