We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebecca Zacarias and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rebecca, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
My own soul searching played the biggest part in choosing a second career as a Creative Life Coach. After over 20 years in the corporate world, I could feel in my soul a yearning to do something that involved more creativity and that was more fulfilling and professionally rewarding. I had ignored creative expression over the years and began to realize that this was causing an imbalance in my life – mind, body and soul. This soul desire started my expressive arts path and I began my training as a Creative Life Coach. I started Creative Soul Care™ as a way to share my expressive arts journey with other women. I was amazed at just how healing being with my intuitive creativity could be. The practice healed my soul and helped me find a more mindful way to live a life that was more healthy, happy and balanced. The process of being engaged with intuitive creativity for process not product is a powerful way to move from our thinking mind to our heart center, which is our soul. It is there in our soul that we find our inner wisdom of what we need, want and desire. When we connect to our soul, there is an expansiveness that happens in our body, an opening of space for energy to move where we connect to ourselves at a soul level. It’s at this level that we are able to find clarity, we are able to transform our way of being and thinking to find fulfillment and happiness in how we want to live our lives. And more importantly, what I found, and what I believe, is that we have the ability to find balance and well-being in mind, body, and spirit and to live our life the way we desire by reconnecting to our soul. This experience is what began my journey to become a Certified Life Coach and Forgiveness Coach. And it led to also explore other intuitive creative modalities such as expressive art, writing, singing/chanting, rhythm/percussion, tai chi and qi gong. All of these could be a healing tool, or “medicine” for not only my life “toolbox”, but for other women too. My business Creative Soul Care™ was born out of that desire to share how healing and transformative one’s intuitive creativity can be. As a Certified Creative Life Coach, I am an experienced and supportive guide for clients to discover creative tools that offer insight on how they can transform, heal and balance their life situations and transitions.

My training as a Creative Life Coach is based on expressive art – art that is intentionally intuitive. This practice allows art making to be about the process and not the product. Intuitive creativity allows the art to be a soul connection and a soul language that becomes a healing tool when we are seeking a way to connect to our authentic voice and desires to live a more true-self and soul driven life. Challenges in life such as life transitions can require many different types of tools to get out of that situation, but intuitive creative tools allowed me to be with my soul to listen intimately so I could explore, journey, and transform my life situation in a way that was best for me. Being a guide and coach for others has become my soul calling, helping clients feel the transformative power of intuitive creative as they find the “tools” and “medicine” they need for well-being to live their most authentic life. I believe the alchemy of the soul can be found with intuitive creativity. My Coaching and Workshop Facilitation is an opportunity for clients to explore their unique creativity for self-discovery, healing, and transformative integration. I am passionate about how Expressive Arts can reconnect us to our soul and be both healing and empowering. Every workshop is an opportunity to teach clients how their creative intuition can be an enriching and healing encounter with their soul. I am most proud, and I consider it exciting and a privilege, to assist in my clients’ personal growth and courage to create from their authentic self and celebrate their healing and transformative journeys. The positive experience might be as simple as being a part of a supportive group or the excitement of learning something different and new or as challenging as creating without judgment. Most importantly, participants have the opportunity to come away with a new perspective on how their own creative intuition can assist them in making life decisions that feel more authentic and soul-aligned. I believe creativity should be an enriching and healing encounter with your authentic self through Art, Writing, Rhythm, and Movement. By attending a Creative Soul Care™ workshop or participating in a private Coaching session, your curiosity with Expressive Arts will strengthen and be nourished so being with your intuitive creativity will become a healing routine.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I have meet many wonderful women in my various creative trainings and my favorite way to keep up with them is to coordinate an art retreat or workshop that we could attend together. It’s a great way to visit new cities or countries, make art and learn new art methods and skills. My recent art retreat in Italy was a 2019 highlight. We engaged in cultural visits, nature walks and shared our experiences with art and business and enriched ourselves by being in a creative community of women making intuitive art. This is my favorite way to visit with my creative friends.
