We had the good fortune of connecting with Ray Young Jr. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ray, what do you attribute your success to?
I grew up in a low-socioeconomic environment where I faced various adversities and life situations that many people can relate to. I come from a single-parent home, my father was incarcerated, I faced homelessness, associated with street life, etc. These life situations lead me into wanting to give-up, depression, low self-esteem, hopelessness, in the juvenile justice system multiple times. I lived in the inner-city where I saw no hope or opportunities around me to excel in life. I had attended a total of 11 different colleges with no guidance or financial support, which left me frustrated. I failed many times down this path, but I kept striving.

Moreover, my clothing brand called “MYGO,” which means “My Greatness Overcomes,” it was created to inspire/empower others. I believe that everybody has greatness within themselves to overcome anything. Also, my business Klear Envisionation, LLC. is a creative, forward thinking and proactive professional coaching and training company designed to help people reach their full potential. The vision is to provide creative and empowering approaches when delivering all services and support to our diverse clientele. The mission is to inspire and empower clients to their best potential. To help clients overcome obstacles that prevent them from success. To position the client for greatness.

Futhermore, I’m the author of the children’s book called “Malik and the Magic Bow Tie.” The book is about inspiration, empowerment and a wonderful relationship between a father and son. The book is crafted to encourage you to pursue your goals and dreams. Sometimes, self affirmation is all you’ll need to get through your problems. Your greatness can overcome anything! To add, my non-profit “Young’s Vision Achievement Consulting” focuses on empowering youth from diverse backgrounds and life situations through innovative methods and ideas. To promote achievement, good character, education, and growth & development in all aspects of life.

Lastly, my success of my brand comes from life and professional experiences.

What should our readers know about your business?
What made me venture into developing a business, because I can 100% me and create generational wealth for my family. The road hasn’t been easy, because I don’t come from wealth and etc. The challenges I’ve overcome is not being able to have access like others so that I can really do what you want to do. The lesson I’ve learned to stay consistent building and progressing forward when developing/building a business.

I founded this company because it gives him autonomy to help people. He believes it is purpose and passion to see people achieve their goals dreams. Gain inspiration, rewarding and exciting to see them do the unexpected/achieve their vision: education, business, personal/life goals (mental growth), entrepreneurship, desire/motivation. Klear Envisionation is creative, forward thinking and proactive.

What makes you different from competitors?
Klear Envisionation brings a 360 degree of experiences to the forefront.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to San Diego, CA in the US; of course the Motherland (Africa) would be the first one. Nevertheless, while in San Diego I would take them to La Jolla Shores and enjoy the water. Next, grab some Carne Asada Fries at a local Taco Shop, then we would head over the Coronado bridge to enjoy the scenery. I would then rest up at a Wyndham Resort downtown or Ocean Beach before the night. I would find a good Neo Soul event in the Gas Lamp area, which is very diverse.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without God in my life, no success would happen. Shoutout to my family and friends for their support and encouragement. The person I want to shoutout is Dr. Eric Thomas (Top Motivational Speaker), who I call my distance mentor, because we have never met, but I’ve learned a lot from him, also our stories are relatable. Shoutout to my fraternity Kappa Alpha Psi that pushes us to achieve in “Every Field of Human Endeavor.” Shoutout to my Brothers of The Fraternal Order of Class Gentlemen of Sigma Rhomeo Fraternity, Inc who pushes me to “Strive Today for Tomorrow’s Success.”
