Meet Ravi Kumar | CISO & Director of Practice

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ravi Kumar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ravi, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
Being in Information /cybersecurity practice , one important take point that has inspired me constantly and remains the same ” Evolution at all forms of business , sales, interaction, customer service , relationship is imminent to progress. Wake up to either ” Learn or Earn” and ensure that when you sleep at the end of the day.
Over the 20+ years of my global technology career has taught and kept teaching me to date is you are never done in learning or earning. Our founding member Sam Kilaru has given me another feather of constant reminder, “Customer success is the only way to have our business success.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been blessed to be a people’s person all my life. Travelled on business, career and pleasure to many countries, places and interacted with a lot of people ,and that is something i am always excited about. World has accepted me in its place , but the proud moment always being son to my father and that is something evergreen.
Aspect that sets me different from others are ” I try to identify myself in every instance and circumstance bringing the best of me”. Bold decisions, emotional bondings, responsible handlings, accountable decisions , inherited attitude from my father kept me here and going. Had embarrassing experiences those led to increased mental strength and ability to continue and face challenges.
Human interactions and relations are one that are constantly changing, a known lesson i keep relearning “as i wish to believe and be optimistic. My experiences should not be a lesson , but wish them to be a moment of truth if can be viewed through that lens.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
🙂 🙂 My best friends are with varied tastes, i would like them to certainly hang out at ” Woody’s Bar Kitchen” in Frisco and have some fun shopping in Southlake. Legacy west continues to give it’s charm as a close hangout. Best wings ” Woody’s special sauce wings” Hands down.
Career path, service path, family friends and excellent client relations has earned me tons of well wishers, friends and amazing people in Dallas and i am sure of getting my best friends to meet them for sure.
I love bowling so would surely drag them with me.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have a big shout out to every individual i have come across as they have taught me everything to become who i am today. Some lessons are very remarkable and i WILL NEVER FORGET those people that led to that learning.
Special shoutout to our team at TekyBear who keep up with me and our leadership vision that is dynamic all the while.
