We had the good fortune of connecting with Ranjin Mathew and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ranjin, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
My end goal with my Commercial Real Estate career along with IG @BrisketandBaking is to meet and work with as many successful restaurant owners as possible! I know it’s unrealistic to work with every owner & operator, but at the very least they will know who I am. Rather than focusing on just getting to the end goal, I plan on enjoying every bump and stop along the way because that’s when there’s time to reflect on areas of improvement and I end up coming out of it with more experience to be capable of handling the ebbs & flows of whatever comes my way.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My role in Commercial Real Estate is representing Retail and Restaurant Tenants & Landlords with helping both parties find the right space and negotiate favorable lease agreements. Tenant Representation involves assisting Tenants in finding properties that meet their needs, negotiating lease agreements, and providing market analysis. Landlord Representation involves finding suitable tenants for properties, negotiating lease agreements, and helping with marketing and tenant screening.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to have fun with what you’re doing, because that’s what keeps you passionate about what you’re doing on a day-to-day basis when things don’t always turn out in your favor. If you love what you do, you’ll continue with it as long as you love it.

If you’re a restaurant owner looking for inspiration, be sure to check out @BrisketandBaking on Instagram. But whether you’re a Tenant or a Landlord, seeking professional representation can help ensure that you get the best possible deal for your business. By working with an experienced representative, you can navigate the complex process of leasing or purchasing Commercial Real Estate with confidence and achieve your goals in expansions & new locations.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is a tough question because I have so many favorites! I’d say check out Exchange Hall in downtown Dallas and enjoy the sights of the hustle & bustle of the city while enjoying several amazing restaurant options in a food hall setting. We’d hit up a good coffee shop like George’s in Old Town Coppell and Magnolia Sous Le Pont in the Harwood District. One of my favorite foods is fried chicken, specifically Korean fried chicken, so I’d definitely recommend No. 1 Plus Chicken, and also Mike’s Chicken at Maple Ave & Dallas North Tollway. Klyde Warren Park during the day has great food truck options, and it’s one of the most unique parks I’ve ever visited. These are just a few to name for now with so many great choices in our great city of Dallas! I can talk about restaurants all day. Please send me a DM on IG @BrisketandBaking to hear more great options!
