We had the good fortune of connecting with Randall Mize and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Randall, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Just like in other industries, the consumer has many choices. Our clients happen to be some of the most successful and interesting people in the world. Very few people can afford to travel privately, and even fewer can purchase their own personal aircraft. I think the growth of Leviate is highly dependent on our core company principles, mainly transparency and innovation; however, nothing is more important than our dedication to pure and honest business practices.

What should our readers know about your business?
Leviate was established to provide the business aviation world with a standard bearer in service, client satisfaction, and real-world aviation experience.

My business partners and I knew we could create the type of company the industry deserved and one we could be proud to call our own, but it certainly was not without its challenges. Its rare to start as a sales firm and then expand into the operational-space in aviation. Normally its a necessary by-product of operating planes and needing to move them around or buy & sell them. With some good fortune and committing to the process, we were able to accomplish this in just a few short years. There are many differentiators that set Leviate apart; however, one of the most important are the employees. Along with our core values and principles its our employees that have allowed this company to not only grow, but to thrive!

Now with established and high-level divisions in charter, management, and aircraft sales, Leviate has positioned itself as a definitive leader in the private aviation industry.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would first go over to Dallas National Golf Club and play 18 followed by a steak and martinis at Town Hearth in the design district. If you haven’t been the food is amazing, atmosphere is great, and its one of the only places I’ve seen where you can purchase a vintage Ducati motorcycle right of the menu! Another favorite spot is Beverly’s Bistro & Bar. Impressive atmosphere with really good food and drinks that is owned by a good friend and named after his mother. If you haven’t been its certainly worth checking out on a Friday or Saturday night.

Having just turned 40 this year I’m a bit out of practice on the Dallas night life but I’ve always enjoyed a patio on McKinney or Knox street! If you looking for a more laid back vibe Greenville Avenue is always fun.

I enjoy a good run on the Katy Trail and if you want a delicious burger the Katy Trail Ice House is a really popular stop.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Over the years, there are many people who have influenced my path and had a profound effect on the way I have been able to navigate life. I’m very lucky to have been raised by great parents who provided a happy childhood and helped guide me in the right direction, always offer positive reinforcement, love, and support.

My wife is a superstar who continues to amaze me daily, by not only managing a very successful printing and promotional business, but also managing our family. Its a lot to ask, and she does it with grace and dedication. She is truly exceptional and someone I’m incredibly lucky to get to spend my life with.

In addition to my wife, parents, and family its important for me to acknowledge another person who truly impacted me and the direction of Leviate. In 2011, I was flying professionally as a Citation Sovereign captain for a Texas-based oil and gas company. Through some mutual friends, I met a Dallas entrepreneur and owner of multiple automobile dealerships by the name of Randall Reed. Mr. Reed and I instantly had a lot to talk about because he not only owned an aircraft and an aviation company, but was also a pilot himself. After talking for a few days, he recognized something in me that he wanted to invest in, and offered me a job outside of the cockpit. It was a challenge at first, but after months of striking out with prospective new clients on the phone, I finally landed my first big aircraft management deal. Since then I never looked back, and though I really miss flying, I am extremely thankful Mr. Reed gave me the opportunity to take my skills out of the cockpit and into aircraft sales and management. It is something for which I will forever be thankful.
