We had the good fortune of connecting with PVT and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi PVT, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want my legacy to be “He was a Jack of all trades and a master at all of them!” I try to learn anything new I can get my hands on. I never want to miss an opportunity because I don’t know how to do something. You can’t be afraid to ask questions, that’s the only way you’ll learn and get better at whatever you’re setting out to do. I want people to remember my dedication to my craft and willingness to expand into more than I ever imagined!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I never set out to be in the music business. It kinda just came to me! After I started making beats I eventually grew an interest in engineering. At that point I didn’t have many people to record so I could practice mixing and mastering, which led to me recording myself. I received a lot of positive feedback about the songs I was recording and a lot of people told me I should look into becoming an artist also. I am proud of the confidence I have grown over the years as well as the growth in my musical abilities. Connecting with different artists and developing solid relationships led me to where I am today. The most important lesson I’ve learned is to never give up ! Just when you think things are going downhill anything can happen to put you back on top! I’m from Little Rock, Arkansas so if I can keep going anybody can keep going! Hard work, dedication, and a will to make it will put you where you need to be.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d probably take them to Deep Ellum. There are some really nice bars and food selections. We’d probably go to Klyde Warren Park and see what the food trucks have to offer. We would definitely go to the Green Elephant for open mic night. My Bestfriend is a musician also so anything we did would probably revolve around food and music.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a big shoutout to my pops! He’s a music producer and engineer also. As a kid I never had plans to be in the music business but here I am and I enjoy it much more than I thought I would. The more I worked on music on my own, the more I wanted to be like him and reach the level of success he has.
