We had the good fortune of connecting with Porchia Jefferson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Porchia, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
The story started when I was in middle school. I watched my mother arch eyebrows. She was so good at enhancing herself and friends. So one day I asked her could she do my eyebrows and she did. My eyebrows were nice arched by my mother. I recall my cousin Shay wanting her brows done by my mother too when we were in middle school, which was pretty cool. So in 2017 I heard about Microblading, I was so stoked that there was a technique out for fuller looking eyebrows because I was so over the nail shops thinning my eyebrows and taking too much off my tails. After experiencing these problems I took the extra mile to learn a technique that could help others like myself with thin brows. After telling a few friends and family members about this technique and that I wanted to learn this technique, my decision was made to make a step towards learning how Microblade brows. In 2020 that’s when I finally made the jump. I took a 2 day course at Brow Beats Microblading. After learning in this new found industry I sought after,  I came to realization after days of practicing  that I didn’t like Microblading, lol funny I know. Then there was Microshading.  I was asked by another instructor who I reached out to would I like to learn how to use the machine for microshading. I said yes of course. She taught me how to shade with the knowledge she had.  So presently, my new found love that’s therapeutic is Microshading which gives women a fuller bolder look. And now I also offer Brow Tinting, and Ombré Shading.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart is my true passion for doing what I love. This road was not easy after having my first child and becoming a single mother so early, but I didn’t give up. Today my mother who inspired me helps me while I’m on this entrepreneur journey. I’m learning and growing each day to perfect my craft. I’m adding different styles and techniques to help women with thin eyebrows or very sparse eyebrows.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
God for gifting me and revealing my purpose.
