Meet PNDTATTOS Pourtia Deal | Tattoo artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with PNDTATTOS Pourtia Deal and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi PNDTATTOS, what principle do you value most?
Authenticity matters most to me because it’s the foundation of everything I do, personally, artistically, and professionally. In a world full of the next best thing and expectations, staying true to who I am allows me to connect with others on a real level. Whether I’m creating art or simply showing up in life, I want people to feel something genuine. Authenticity builds trust, invites vulnerability, and gives everyone permission to be themselves. I believe when you’re true you welcome a safe place and that’s where the most meaningful relationships, opportunities, and growth come from.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is all about storytelling through skin. What sets me apart is my ability to blend detailed linework and shading with a personal touch. Whether it’s an anime-inspired piece, a pop culture design, or a custom creation that means the world to the client. I focus on making each tattoo not just beautiful, but deeply connected to the person wearing it.
I’m most proud of the fact that I built PNDTATTOOS from the ground up. I’ve been able to turn my passion into a career, and to see my work resonate with so many people still feels surreal. What excites me most is knowing that there’s always another level of growth ahead, new techniques to learn, bigger projects to tackle, and more stories to bring to life through my art.
Getting here wasn’t easy. Like many artists, I faced self-doubt, financial struggles, and the pressure of figuring everything out on my own. But I overcame those challenges by staying consistent, leaning on my support system, and refusing to let setbacks define me. Every challenge taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of authenticity.
The lesson I’ve learned along the way is that staying true to yourself will always take you farther than trying to fit into someone else’s mold. I want the world to know that PNDTATTOOS is more than just tattoos; it’s about passion, expression, and creating something timeless with every client who sits in my chair. My brand is my story, and it’s still being written every day.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting Dallas for a week, I’d make sure they got the true experience of what it’s like out here. First thing, we’re definitely eating good. I’d take them to Ojeda’s or BB.Q chicken, and of course brunch at The Biscuit Bar because that’s a must.
During the day, I’d show them around Bishop Arts District and Deep Ellum. Both spots are full of art, murals and little shops.
At night, we’d do a mix of rooftop spots like RH rooftop or HG Sply Co. for the views, then probably hit TENRamen after for late-night eats. If they’re down for live music or comedy, we’d find a show in Deep Ellum too.
Since it’s a whole week, I’d break it up with some different vibes, like the Perot for something chill, Klyde Warren Park for food trucks and outside vibes, or the Trinity bridge park, if they want to maybe ride scooters.
And of course, I’d bring them by the tattoo studio so they can see what my world looks like, meet some cool people, and hang out in the creative space that inspires me every day.
By the time they leave, they’d be full, probably tired, but definitely in love with Dallas.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout first and foremost to my clients. Every person who has trusted me with their skin has played a direct role in shaping PNDTATTOOS into what it is today. Their loyalty, word-of-mouth referrals, and willingness to let me bring their ideas to life have been the foundation of my growth as both an artist and a business owner. I also owe a lot to fellow artists and mentors who inspired me along the way. Watching how they carved out their own lanes in this industry pushed me to stay authentic and fearless with my style. Even those I’ve only admired from afar showed me that it’s possible to make a living doing what you love.
And of course, I couldn’t forget my close circle; family and friends who held it down, encouraged me to keep pushing, and reminded me of my worth when things got tough. Their love kept me balanced while I poured myself into my craft.
PNDTATTOOS is more than just me, it’s the energy, trust, and support of a whole community that helped me become who I am today. For that, I’m forever grateful.
