Meet Payton Schedler | Studio & Label Owner/ Hip-Hop Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Payton Schedler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Payton, why did you pursue a creative career?
Hello I’m P The Poet aka DJ P and my pursue as a artist started back in 2011 when a close friend got killed. My cousin was going to write a tribute song for him and, I wanted to be on the song so that is when I started writing lyrics. And ever since then I have been a hip-hop artist. And from that I formed Unknown To Known Entertainment early 2017, When a former member & I went to Missouri & Kansas to open for Twisted Insane. Then From that I have done over 80 shows and thrown as a promoter 37 shows. Also I have been djing for about 3-4 years and have worked with many big name artist including K-Rino, Stevie Stone, Afroman, Mr.Pookie, R-Truth aka Ron Killings, Bonez Dubb, TumTum & More. Now I have a recording Studio in Dallas,TX called UTK STUDIOS, I’m also apart of a band named Lonestar Outlaws find on any platform Lonestar Outlaw Music.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
So back at the end of 2016 my friend & I came up with Unknown to Known Crew for are group name. We performed 4 show which3 were out of state opening for Twisted Insane. Fast forward we had a falling out and I continued repping Unknown to Known, UTK for short and made it a entertainment company. Now we have thrown 38 shows to date. Have had the opportunity to books such as Lil Flip, Big Tuck, Mr.Pookie, Mr.Lucci, TumTum, Lardi B, Whitney Peyton, UBI & Stoner Jordan. And we are still throwing event every month at Haltom Theater in Haltom City,TX. Also there is UTK Studio which is located in Northeast Dallas. As well as I’m Co-Owner Of Why So Serious? Filmz based out of Fort Worth,TX. And I have my DJing company DJ P which I will dj for any type of event big or small.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My go to place to have fun is Haltom Theater in Haltom City,TX. With how busy I stay the only down time i get I spend at events and the Haltom is the spot to go. Also Big Rob’s off Trinity Blvd is a awesome place to go have a good time and grab a few drinks.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I Just wanna shoutout D-Tex & Trey Trey 2 Kold for teaching me how to write verses. Also Pac Manson for having my back for the long run of this music industry. Also my brother Myrick for always supporting anyway he could. Also RCX for taking my on the road with him and asking me to be in the Lonestar Outlaws. Also The Haltom Theater for letting me use their venue and becoming apart of the Haltom family. Also DJ Tony Snow & DJ Lonny Toon for getting me opportunity that I wouldn’t of got without him. An can’t forget about Terry over at Big Rob’s for letting me use his venue. And anyone and everyone who has came to a show I thrown or listened to my music or shared a post supporting my business I appreciate all of you.
