Hi Paola, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
At its heart, Twistastic Bakes is about showing that small choices—like choosing a vegan treat—can make a big difference. Veganism helps reduce harm to animals, lower our environmental impact, and create a more sustainable food system. Through my bakery, I’m able to offer people delicious options that align with those values, without feeling like they’re missing out on anything.

I also hope Twistastic Bakes helps build community. Food is such a powerful way to bring people together, and I love creating treats that fellow vegans (and the vegan-curious!) can bond over. One of my favorite things is when someone tries something and says they never would have guessed it’s vegan—it proves that great food doesn’t need labels to be enjoyed and shared.

Whether it’s sharing a concha cookie at a market or bringing plant-based desserts to a family gathering, I want my business to help people feel connected, seen, and supported.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
At Twistastic Bakes, I’m excited about creating vegan treats that don’t just meet expectations—they surprise people by how delicious and comforting they are! What sets us apart is that we blend traditional Mexican-American flavors and beloved classics like conchas, cookies, and cakewiches with a fully vegan twist that even non-vegans love.
I want the world to know that Twistastic Bakes is more than just a bakery—it’s a celebration of culture, community, and kindness through food. When you truly love what you do and keep pushing forward, you can create something meaningful and special.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to dedicate my shoutout to my family and the incredible vegan community that has lifted up Twistastic Bakes from the very start. My family has always supported my creativity and my determination to prove that plant-based treats can be just as nostalgic and delicious as the classics we grew up with. I also owe so much to the local vegan makers, market organizers, and customers who have cheered me on, shared their own stories, and inspired me to keep innovating. It means everything to know there’s a whole community rooting for small businesses like mine.
