Meet Palmer Ragsdale | A board member of Rockwall Summer Musicals

We had the good fortune of connecting with Palmer Ragsdale and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Palmer, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Rockwall Summer Musicals was started by a core group of founding members. We wanted to bring Broadway scale performances to this area.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We have a wonderful live orchestra that features musical talent from the metroplex! The orchestra is led by Tracie Kaip. Our actors have worked all summer to bring you this fabulous performance of Oklahoma, many of whom have been in several of our shows

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Zanata’s on the square has fabulous food and not far from the theater! Perfect for dinner before the show! The avocado crab is a must! And, after the show, the Downing features a fabulous wine list and delicious bites if you want a nibble and you will want to try something from their menu!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Barbara Doudt is the director of Oklahoma and also a founding member of Rockwall Summer Musicals. This summer season is our 12th season, we have performed in the Rockwall area. It is Barbara’s 16th show to direct for RSM and we are so fortunate to be able to share her talent and the talent of the cast and crew of Oklahoma. This is the last weekend of performances, 8/4-8/6. This summer we are performing at the theater at 901 Yellow Jacket Road, Rockwall 75087, RHS Theater
