Meet Oliver Fitzpatrick | Fashion Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Oliver Fitzpatrick and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Oliver, is there something you believe many others might not?
When starting my business I wanted to create a brand that was for the culture. A brand that shined a more positive light on black men. I’m also a 6’4 man and its very difficult to find stylish clothing in my size.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I feel that the garments that I make are pieces of art. That I believe alone sets me apart from other bespoke’s and fashion designers. I put a lot of emotion and specific details in my pieces. What I am most proud of is that I will be showing my new line at the 2021 NYFW and 2021 LAFW. I got where I am today by hard work, dedication, consistency, seeking knowledge, patience, passion, care, and love. I was not easy getting to this point. I worked thousands of late hours. I have had emotional break downs wondering if I’m doing the right things with my business. I have been through being told no from multiple manufacturing companies that didn’t want to work with a small business. This is why I say you have to love what you are doing and have a true passion. There will be upside and down but you have stay the course. A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor. Lessons i have learned is stay focused on your vision for your brand. What I want the World to know is that I’m just a kid a from Southwest Little Rock Arkansas who had a dream to be great at something different with fashion. Just because there is no path for you doesn’t mean you can’t create your own. With hard work and dedication and respect for your craft you can accomplish anything.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would say that Arkansas is a real Natural State. Parks and recreation are some of the best in the State to offer. We would definitely climb Pinnacle Mountain stop by the visitors center one day and go for a hike and take in the views. We have some nice places downtown Little Rock River Market to get drinks and hangout. Also the Heights is a great place to walk and bar hop. If you want some great live music you will catch a live set by either Philli Moo or Rodney Block. Little Rock has a Historical landmark Little Rock Central High where the Little Rock Nine attended. This is a very beautiful site. Also the gym is named after my father Oliver Fitzpatrick Jr. And Eddie L Boone.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If it wasn’t for the support of my clients I wouldn’t be here today. I really thank my clients for believing in me and my brand. My clients are allowing me to style and create suits for one of the biggest days of their life. The day they get married.
