Meet Officially Simone | Music Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Officially Simone and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Officially, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am from a small city called desoto , tx ! It’s a very family oriented community. I had a great upbringing being blessed to have both of my parents in my life . They have pushed me and supported me every step of the way . My parents weren’t too strict on me but they did push and encourage me to be very active as a young girl . I was in so many sports Lol and eventually I got into dance as well . I always knew I had a gift to sing but I never thought I’d be able to sing the way I do today lol ! I was always busy as a young child . I’d be coming from dance practice heading to track practice so I’ve always had a intense schedule even as a child . I would be in dance and track almost everyday while singing and starting my music career . I feel like the way I was brought up was to work consistently and to always keep myself going . I believe this has helped tremendously with who I’ve become . I’m still the same busy body as I was when I was younger lol ! But it has taught me good work ethic and how to prioritize multiple things at one time . Now I have a business, I’m in school to be a esthetician, and I’m a full time artist, I Also work on the side . I feel like I’ll Be busy for the rest of my life lol but this is how I was raised and I actually enjoy it . My upbringing has really made me who I am today .

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe what sets m apart from others is my sound ! I feel like I have a unique sound to where you can tell its me lol ! I also believe my style of music is a bit different from others because I’ve studied so many different genres such as pop, rub ,gospel, alternative, and hip hop . I got to where I’m at today because of my work ethic . I never fully gave up on anything I do . I’m very determined to accomplish goals and I’ve been this way since I was a kid . I believe my drive , passion , and determination has gotten me where I’m at today . it was NOT easy at all. its still not easy . Being consistent is a very hard task to accomplish . As human beings we can’t be perfect. Life happens and sometimes it can throw us off track a lot of times in life. Distracting us form our goals and dreams . But the more i got back up again and push forward I always felt like I was getting better and better in my craft . its all about the mind and believing in yourself but none of this is easy work . One of my biggest lessons was to accept help and criticism from others . I feel like this was very important and has open new doors for me once I did so . In my mind I thought I could do everything on my own my I realized its completely IMPOSSIBLE ! lol . I’ve also learn to not care what others think of me sometimes you gotta be free and put yourself out there without any worries .I want the world to know that I’m not here just for myself but for others. I have a great testimony that one day ill open up and share to the world . My brand is based on building up young girls and women to be the best they can be with facing hard challenges in this world .

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
the first place I would take my friend is to the virign hotel Dallas . sounds bougjie but its pretty lit and just a beautiful hotel to have fun at ! I would then take her to my favorite ice cream place called milk and cream they have glazed donuts with ice cream in them and its sooooo good ! another place I would take my friend is to my favorite nail shop ” Dallas Nail Bar” . I probably would just do a quick tour downtown to make it easy lol .

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There’s so many people I can shoutout it’s crazy lol ! Number one id like to shoutout God because without him I wouldn’t be where I’m at today and I honestly don’t know what I’d do without having him in my life . I’d also like to shoutout my former vocal coaches Andrea Wallace and Ms.LaLa . They have been such a big impact in my singing career and helped me very much with maturing my vocals . Another person I would love to shoutout is My music producer Anthony Houston ! He has been another big influence in my life and has helped me grow in many ways as far as my music recording and production !! My family have also pushed me , supported me to be the best I can be . One more important shoutout is to my boyfriend of 3 years . He’s been a very huge impact in my life and has really motivated me and got me out my comfort zone to become better then who I was before .
