Meet O’Dasha Collins | Digital Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with O’Dasha Collins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi O’Dasha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started DashofDaysh in January of 2019 after graduating from College. I was looking for my “next thing” after being a 15 and pregnant teen mom turned high school and college honor graduate. I started my business to inspire other women that if I can do it, you can too! I became a financial representative after graduating which honestly taught me a lot and I now teach others how to save their coins, own their confidence, and build their empires.
I offer a free budget resource tool to help my babes get a jump start on controlling their finances. Education is really important to me and is a key component of the content that I share within my brand.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I began my creative career on Youtube in 2019 by just creating videos for fun! I started with fashion videos that did fairly well and eventually ventured into finance after becoming a financial representative. Creating finance content became really fun for me and is now some of my most viewed projects. DashofDaysh TV has now grown to over 100k views and is now reaching different countries which really amazes me. I’ve branched out to other platforms to reach others and inspire them to keep going; I want to provide others with the resources that I lacked and needed in my life. I teach everything from budgeting, side hustle ideas, and important lifestyle hacks.
My overall goal with my brand is to be like the homegirl that teaches her friends everything from fashion to finance and lifestyle. You can accomplish multiple things in life so never limit yourself. I want to show others how I overcame being pregnant at 15. I was able to still graduate in the top 10 of my high school class, graduate as a merit scholar in college, join a sorority, while working full time and so much more. Just because you fall down doesn’t mean you have to stay there and that’s exactly what I’ll continue to show others.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Since I have been in Dallas, I’ve come across some pretty awesome places! My girlfriends and I have visited Kiss, Paradiso, and XOXO Dining Room which are cute brunch places to visit. I definitely have to visit Kiss as an evening event. I celebrated my 25th birthday at Happy Hour which was great vibes, food & drinks, plus scenery. Main Event is a fun family place to hang out! Legacy West was a great experience to try different foods and meet great people. Pinstack has the perfect combination of games and drinks to have a fun adult night out. I ended up getting pregnant after being here for only 2 months so there are definitely a lot of places on my bucket list to still tackle.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My son. He taught me to live for something bigger than myself. Being a teen mom honestly fueled a flame within me to not just be another statistic. He taught me true love, patience, and gratitude. Because of him I also gained a very supportive team that has gotten me to where I am today. They say “it takes a village to raise a child” and I couldn’t have asked for a better one myself.
