We had the good fortune of connecting with Nydia Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nydia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My husband Shawn and I always talked about starting our own business. During the beginning of the pandemic I was craving some Koolaid pickles. I searched online but shipping was forever and I didn’t feel like driving to Dallas. I decided to make some for myself and I posted a photo on Facebook and the rest was history, it was our new beginning of turning our dream into our reality.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Pickle Diller’s is very original. We don’t try to compete with other businesses. I believe it’s enough people on this earth that every business should have at least 100 customers and counting. Our flavors are delicious and satisfying. I’m very pumped and excited about expanding The Pickle Diller’s. I’ve learned a lot of trial and error and even in your mistakes is a learned lesson to keep going and don’t give up.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Unfortunately, I don’t get out much these days due to me being a wife, mom and business owner. I would recommend going maybe downtown Dallas to Klyde Warren park. There you have literally everything all wrapped up in one. It’s food trucks, dog parks, live music and exciting people. You definitely can’t go wrong hanging out at Klyde Warren park.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My super supportive husband Shawn Davis. This handsome guy is a big inspiration to our company and he also created our flavors with a secret ingredient that a lot of people would never figure out, He’s a genius and a very good salesman.
