We had the good fortune of connecting with Notaboi DJ and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Notaboi, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Relationships, networking, and integrity. Maintaining professional relationships, meeting numerous individuals from various industries, and having a strong work ethic/high level of professionalism.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a DJ my specialty consists primarily of blending and transitions. I like for music to be smooth and for it to tell a story that invoke a myriad of emotions.
I practiced relentlessly and I support my peers.
It was not easy because being a new DJ along with being a female has a host of challenges. I had to be consistent and well versed in different music genres in order to set myself apart and gain the recognition that I was seeking.
I learned that deposits and contracts are important. Also, I learned that having strong work ethics and being responsible is imperative to my success.
I would like for people to know that I produce a variety of experiences. My goal is to leave an impression on every guest which touches their soul, uplifts their emotions, and draws them back.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite places to go is camping so I would take them to experience that outing. I like to getaway from the hustle and bustle from city living. We would bring our own food and bbq at the campsite. There’s hiking, wildcrafting, horse back riding, and amazing view to be taken in.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Kelly and DJ Thump. Both of them have provided me with almost ALL of my gigs. They continuously support, mentor, and motivate me to flourish in such a competitive male dominated industry. In the beginning, they had more faith in my than I had in myself.
