We had the good fortune of connecting with Niki Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Niki, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?    The thought process behind starting my business was helping women find their voice and confidence through personal style and clothing. I truly wanted women to be able to find and express her true self through the medium of personal style and clothing.

What should our readers know about your business?                                    Niki Shaw is a fashion boutique that offers a carefully, curated array of apparel and accessories for all women. Our mission is to provide a sophisticated shopping experience that is anchored in style, quality, and service. It is my genuine commitment to ensure your best self is expressed through your fashion and personal style.

How did I get here and was it easy? I got here with hard work, dedication, consistency, and sitting at the feet of others while continuously honing my business and my craft. No, it hasn’t been easy. In 2019, I had to close my brick and mortar due to unforeseen and debilitating health issues. It took an entire year before I was able to work again. It felt like I had started over from scratch, then COVID hit. Through all this, I’ve learned a few things; delayed is not denied. I have to run my own race and not compared myself or my business to others, and only I can determine what success looks like for me. I am living out my passion and purpose through and with FAITH, FAMILY, FASHION, and FITNESS.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There has been a tribe that has helped, encouraged, loved, and supported me in and through my success. But if I had to put names on it outside of God…. 1) My husband Toboris and my daughter Danielle who are and been a motivation and rock in me building Niki Shaw. 2) My immediate circle of close friends and family Rhoyia Crozier, Chasity, Christy, Javonda, Candance and Coya. 3) All the women I have encountered just from being a member of New Life Community Church that have poured into me one way or another. Women like Tina Hutchins, Monica Johnson, LaJuan Chambers, Charita Howard, Sandra Thorpe, Chintale Williamson, Bridgette Williams, and Ernestine Burtley just to name a few. I told you it was a tribe.
