We had the good fortune of connecting with Nik Sallie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nik, is there something you believe many others might not?
I’ll give you two. First, Fake it ’til you make it. I define this as overcompensating with ego in order to distract from a perceived inadequacy. I can’t fake it- either I have expertise in something or I don’t. Either I achieved the goal or I’m on my way to it. Pretending otherwise feels disingenuous and inauthentic to me because it feels like living a lie. I don’t manufacture confidence, I embody it. Now, I do believe in faith + works, meaning being clear on what you want and aligning your actions to it. Taking inspired action is a great way to build momentum toward completing a goal. Second, perfectionism as a general career concept. Perfection is fear disguised as due diligence and thoughtfulness. It’s a really dangerous and covert roadblock to transformational growth because we spin our wheels agonizing over getting everything “right” which is an ambiguous, subjective viewpoint. I prefer progress over perfection.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have a really diverse, non-traditional career path. This includes 18+ years of experience in marketing and branding that began with Virgin Records, where as a marketing rep I supported artists including Janet Jackson, Coldplay, Korn and Lenny Kravitz. I also have over a decade of experience in law — specializing in intellectual property, specifically trademarks. Combining both of those areas of expertise, I worked at Facebook for over a decade, where I’ve consistently helped build and train new teams: first in Intellectual Property Operations and now in the Global Business Group, advising Fortune 500 healthcare companies on their online advertising strategies, where since 2018 alone I’ve generated over $100M. Additionally, I own NikSallie.com, a trademark law firm supporting high performance six and seven-figure women entrepreneurs in building legally-protected, soul-injected brands that manifest their purpose into profits. I’m a Master Reiki Healer, Tarot Card Reader and was named a 2020 Woman to Watch by Austin Woman Magazine. Nothing brings me more joy than coaching and supporting women entrepreneurs in manifesting ideas into reality.
