We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting our business was deeply personal and purposeful. My spouse and I have always been passionate about helping couples strengthen their relationships—especially those navigating second marriages, blended families, or the everyday challenges of life. We recognized the need for authentic, faith-based resources that not only fostered communication and connection but also offered hope, humor, and healing.

Rather than waiting for the perfect opportunity, we asked ourselves, “What do we wish we had when we were going through our own relationship challenges?” That question became the foundation of our brand. We didn’t want to create products—we wanted to build a movement. Something that spoke to couples in all seasons, reminding them: “Your spouse is your best friend—and that’s worth protecting and celebrating.”

We combined our shared experiences, professional skills, and spiritual convictions to launch the business with a strong sense of calling. Every blog, product, podcast episode, or event we create comes from that intentional place—where faith meets love, and purpose meets partnership.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My Spouse Is My Best Friend® is a faith-based relationship brand we co-founded to help couples—especially those in second marriages and blended families—build stronger, more intentional marriages rooted in friendship, faith, and commitment. As a husband-and-wife team, we offer premarital and marital coaching, host a weekly podcast, and lead The Lovebird Community, a safe and uplifting space for couples to grow together. We also run an online retail store at www.myspousemybestfriend.com, featuring apparel, gifts, and products that celebrate love and connection in everyday life.

We don’t just teach relationship principles—we live them. Our message is rooted in biblical truth and real-life experience. We’re passionate about creating authentic resources that speak to real couples in real-life situations. Whether it’s a coaching session, a podcast episode, or a T-shirt from our store, our goal is to encourage couples to invest in their friendship and faith—because that’s the foundation of a lasting marriage.

Our journey started with a deep desire to serve couples who felt overlooked or overwhelmed. We saw a need for relatable, faith-filled guidance for blended families and second marriages, and we knew God was calling us to step in. The road hasn’t been easy—we’ve faced our share of challenges—but we stayed anchored in prayer, purpose, and each other. That perseverance is what helped us grow a brand that’s now impacting lives around the country.

We want people to know that love is still worth choosing—daily. Your marriage can be beautiful, even after brokenness. With faith, intentionality, and the right tools, couples can heal, grow, and truly enjoy life together. My Spouse Is My Best Friend® isn’t just our business—it’s our testimony, and we’re honored to share it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the Dallas/Fort Worth area, I’d make sure they had a week full of unforgettable memories—good food, rich culture, spiritual nourishment, and lots of laughter. DFW has so much to offer, whether you’re a foodie, history lover, or someone who just enjoys good vibes and great company.

Day 1 – Welcome to Texas!
Brunch at Bread Winners Cafe in Uptown Dallas for Southern comfort food with a classy twist. Afterward, we’d explore Klyde Warren Park, walk the Dallas Museum of Art, and maybe rent a bike for a quick downtown spin. Dinner at Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum—arguably some of the best BBQ in Texas. If there’s energy left, a stroll through Deep Ellum to catch live music or street art.

Day 2 – Fort Worth Culture & Cowboys
We’d head west to Fort Worth Stockyards—classic Texas vibes with longhorns, live shows, and local shops. Lunch at Joe T. Garcia’s for famous Tex-Mex and their beautiful garden patio. Evening? Sundance Square for dinner, dessert, and maybe even a live theater performance at Jubilee Theater.

Day 3 – Spiritual Recharge & Soul Food
Afternoon walk at the Dallas Arboretum—beautiful, peaceful, and perfect for reflection. Evening: Game night or chill hangout at home with a homemade meal and conversation under string lights on the patio.

Day 4 – Black History, Art & Inspiration
Visit the African American Museum in Fair Park and Legacy Museum of African American History. Lunch at Kitchen + Kocktails for elevated Southern cuisine. Evening stop at The Museum of Biblical Art—a hidden gem with faith-based inspiration through fine art.

Day 5 – Couple Time & Community
If they’re married, we’d plan a couple’s date night—Chicken N Pickle in Grapevine is a blast (yes, pickleball and food!).
Later, we’d invite them to hang with our Lovebird Community or tune in to a live taping of our My Spouse Is My Best Friend® Podcast. A night of love, laughter, and honest conversations.

Day 6 – Shopping + Scenic Views
Morning stroll and breakfast at The Star in Frisco—home of the Dallas Cowboys HQ, great for photos and casual shopping.
Afternoon shopping at Legacy West or NorthPark Center, followed by dinner at Sixty Vines in Plano and dessert at Better Than Sex Restaurant.

Day 7 – Sunday Rest & Reconnect
A peaceful start with fellowship and worship at The Key Church and brunch at Gloria’s Latin Cuisine.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There’s no way I could be where I am today without the unwavering love, support, and partnership of my husband, Dr. Jason Green. He’s not only my life partner but also my purpose partner—we dream, build, pray, and grow together. The vision behind My Spouse Is My Best Friend was born from our shared journey and commitment to strengthening marriages, starting with our own. His encouragement gave me the courage to use my voice, and his wisdom has sharpened my purpose.

I also want to give a heartfelt shoutout to our incredible children—DeVionne, Precious, Angel, Kaitlyn, and Camille. You are our “why.” Your love, patience, and support have been a constant source of strength and inspiration. Watching you grow reminds us daily why strong, faith-filled families matter.

To the many mentors, faith leaders, and couples who’ve shared their stories and supported our mission—thank you! Your trust and vulnerability have helped shape how we serve.

Finally, a special thank you to our family and friends who cheered us on when we were just getting started. Your belief in us helped plant the seeds of something greater than we ever imagined—and we’re forever grateful.
