Hi Nicole, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
The most difficult decision I ever made was to leave the life I’d built in California as a backup dancer for Justin Timberlake. Being part of the Justified world tour was unforgettable—traveling all over the world, performing on stage, and living in the moment. At the time, I was so young, completely caught up in the present without a thought of the future. It was exhilarating, but I was living under the influence of others’ expectations and standards. I didn’t know it then, but I was keeping my gifts and talents within the limits I felt comfortable with rather than using them for something greater.
The Lord intervened in my story, showing me that my purpose wasn’t meant to stay confined to that life. Moving back to Texas wasn’t easy. I had to lay down the life I’d grown accustomed to and, most importantly, I had to be obedient, stepping out of my comfort zone and into the unknown with faith. It was challenging, but it marked a turning point where I began to use my gifts with intention, not just for myself, but for something that could make a difference in others’ lives.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Twelve 12 Ministries is all about transforming pain into purpose, and I’m grateful every day for the chance to support women and couples navigating the heartache of infertility, pregnancy loss, and childlessness. We offer a unique, faith-based approach that provides not only practical resources but also spiritual and emotional support, giving people a place where they can feel seen, supported, and understood. What sets us apart is our focus on the full journey—offering holistic support and providing a community that recognizes every aspect of what our families face.
Getting here hasn’t been easy; it’s been a path filled with challenges, from finding the right resources to navigating the complexities of loss and healing in a way that truly serves people. Along the way, I’ve learned that purpose-driven work requires patience, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to those you serve. For me, it’s always been about leaning into God’s guidance, even when things felt uncertain. I believe each step has prepared us to bring hope and healing to more people.
I want the world to know that Twelve 12 Ministries isn’t just a brand; it’s a mission to ensure no one walks through these struggles alone. My own journey has taught me that every story matters, and I’m honored to use my experiences to help others find hope and healing in theirs.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d plan a meaningful yet relaxed day that captures what matters most to me. We’d start the morning by attending church together—worship is such an important part of my life, and I’d love to share that experience. After church, we’d head out for brunch, finding a cozy spot where we can enjoy good food and even better conversation.
Next, I’d take her to the Twelve 12 Ministries office. It’s such a big part of my story and purpose, and sharing what we do firsthand would give her insight into my heart for the community we serve.
To wrap up the day, we’d head back to my home, where she could spend time with my family. There’s nothing like ending the day in a place that’s filled with love and laughter, making memories together in the comfort of home.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I give all glory and thanks to God, who has been the cornerstone of my journey and the source of strength behind every step I take. My faith has given me purpose, direction, and an incredible sense of peace that I’m beyond grateful for. Alongside this, I have to honor my husband, who has been my steadfast support and partner. He’s walked beside me through each season—encouraging me, cheering me on, and sharing in the vision that drives my work every day. His unwavering belief in me has been a blessing, and I wouldn’t be where I am without his love and encouragement.
