We had the good fortune of connecting with Nick Reeder and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nick, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was looking for more control of my time. I have always been a hard worker, but never really had a say of how much my work benefited me and my family. I like knowing that if I work hard, and build up my business my family can really benefit greatly from what I do. I enjoy being able to work when I need to, and the freedom to enjoy my schedule as I choose. I also wanted something I could leave to my family. I am the first in my family to start a business and my goal is to encourage the next generation to step out on faith and do something that they really enjoy.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
With Frios Gourmet Pops, we really sell happiness! Our pops make you smile, they have a very nostalgic effect when you bite into one. We carry a large variety of flavors that have options to meet everyone dietary needs. Gluten free, dairy free, and vegan pops! I think the growth of our company has come from our consistency and our desire to make people happy. There is not a day that we go out and we don’t bless someone with a free pop or two. We don’t do it for promotion or marketing, we do it because we believe our pops will really brighten up your day. I feel like as long as we can help people with our pops we will continue to do that.
We believe in good vibes, and putting goodness into the atmosphere. As long as we continue with that then I think we will be okay.
We want the world to know that Frios Gourmet Pops of Allen, Dallas, & Plano have the most amazing pops! but we also want to be a light, a moment of happiness for people that can help them make it to the next day!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would take them Downtown to Klyde Warren park, it’s a great place to hang out and to get some of the Dallas city vibes in, and grab us one of our gourmet Pops! Then we would grab some food from Eddie V’s in uptown. Walk on over to the Turkey DAM for a drink. We would probably end the night at Top Golf or Dave N Busters. Dallas has so much to offer and do, it’s amazing!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Definitely my family, and friends! My wife and I have always had an amazing group of family and friends around us that always encouraged, and supported everything that we have done. We were very timid and nervous to jump out into business on our own, without any real mentors or someone to follow, it was scary. But the encouragement that we received, and support has been over whelming. We had friend volunteer and work events and help with party for us for free, they wouldn’t let us pay them. We have truly been blessed and fortunate to have a loving and supportive group of people around us.
