We had the good fortune of connecting with Naya and Susan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Naya and Susan, what inspires you?
Hi, The PN is a meeting and collaboration of two very different individuals. Naya, Founder and Visionary of The PN, is a mother of two baby girls and a lover of all things trendy and cultural. Susan, Creative Director and Partner of The PN, is a HR and Client Manager by profession and a remarkable artist by nature. They are inspired by different aspects of work and life, and together, form a synergy that helps them come together with a single purpose to create special memories for our clients. Inspiration can come from many different sources. Susan receives the biggest inspiration from the people she meets in her life professionally and personally. Working at a law firm, she works with many clients going through tough moments in their lives who are forced to call on her firm to defend their rights. She is able to see and understand their vulnerability, receiving a great sense of fulfillment to be able to help them and earning a greater appreciation and gratitude for her abilities and situation in life. On the flip side, her role at The PN is to take a client’s dreams and turn them into a magical reality during the most happy and positive moments in their lives. A complete opposite from her day job, she is able to channel the cynical energy she absorbs during the week and pour her soul into creating a masterpiece design to bring out the happiest emotions in her clients on the weekends. Naya, a happy-go-lucky mother of two girls and lover of dogs, truly receives inspirational signals from just about every moment whether it is watching the kids laughing with joy, watching animals roam their habitat at the zoo, or even color combinations used in window installations for retail storefronts. She believes anything can be interpreted as art and inspirations can come from anywhere, especially nature or living things in its natural state. During the most recent Dallas snowstorm, she was able to appreciate the majestic red cardinals landing on bare, snow covered branches, trying to make their way to the birdhouse full of feed. As a former marketing and public relations professional, it was her job to create new and innovative ad campaigns for famous name brands. Now, creating custom-designed Korean traditional events for babies and couples, she takes these inspirational moments and designs unique celebration concepts for her new clients. Naya understands the external inspiration itself is not enough. The synthesis of those new signals with personal experiences and the subconscious transformation into a new vision is what makes the inspiration complete and special. Together, Naya and Susan compliment each other like yin and yang. Naya’s visions and ideas meet the magical touch of Susan’s creative hands and the end creation is a beautiful design that incorporates every aspect of Korean traditions and art, modern style and trends, and personal influence and care. The effort the ladies at The PN take to create customized events for all of their clients from scratch is a testament to the pride they take to continue to spread the beauty of Korean culture and the dedication they have to their special clients. Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We have had to overcome many hurdles to get to this point in our professional and personal lives, especially being Korean-American immigrants to the United States. We have had to work doubly hard to establish ourselves in the society, and will have to continue to work tirelessly to be recognized by the mainstream industry and bring the beauty of Korean and Asian culture to be appreciated by everyone.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
LaLaLand Cafe for coffee Bishop Arts District for some sightseeing and shopping Lower Greenville and Harwood District for good eats and drinks Klyde Warren Park for a little outdoor sun and fun The AAC for a Mavs game!
