Meet Nate Vo | Barber

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nate Vo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nate, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I see risk as part of growth. I realized that comfort doesn’t build confidence or progress. Every big step in my career — from deciding to become a barber, to building my own brand, to putting my name out there — came with a lot of uncertainty.
Taking risks has helped me build not just my skills, but my mindset. It taught me that fear is part of the process and that growth only happens when you move through that fear anyway. I started my business with just six months of experience and no clients. Now, five years later, I work in a shop for myself and have the privilege of sharing my journey. Betting on myself was the only option. I understood that achieving my goals required taking ownership of my path.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m most proud of creating a space where everyone feels welcome, respected, and valued. Seeing clients leave not just with a fresh cut, but with confidence and a smile, is what excites me the most. I love that my chair isn’t just about hair—it’s about connection, trust, and making people feel their best.
It wasn’t overnight. I started from the ground up, grinding every day, learning my craft, and figuring out what it really means to connect with people. I faced challenges—long hours, tough clients, and figuring out how to stand out—but I stayed consistent, kept improving, and never lost sight of why I started.
The biggest lesson is that being a great barber isn’t just about cutting hair—it’s about understanding people, building trust, and creating experiences that keep them coming back. That’s the secret to loyalty, growth, and respect in this industry.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that its built on professionalism, excellence, and a commitment to creating a welcoming environment for everyone. My goal is to provide not just quality haircuts, but an experience that leaves clients feeling confident and valued. My story reflects dedication, hard work, and a passion for the craft—values that guide every client interaction and define my brand.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I were hanging out with a friend in Dallas, I’d start the day with a local coffee cafe, then wander around streets or the parks. I love grabbing a coffee and just walking around—it’s a great way to experience the city, check out the sights, and just soak in the vibe. It’s fun to see the city, the street art, and all the little details you don’t notice when you’re driving. In the afternoon, we could do something I love, like going to the gym or the gun range. I’m really into training, so I hit the gym and the gun range pretty often. Then we’d finish the day with dinner at a Steakhouse, such as The Vault, and grab a drink or dessert to wrap it up.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without my family. I owe so much to my father and brothers. They gave me advice and pushed me to go after something I really wanted to do, even though I was scared at first. Their support and encouragement gave me the confidence to take the leap. Honestly, I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.
