We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Galvez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Natalie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
After a couple years of enjoying photography, enjoying my hobby, I decided I could make money from it. That I could get paid to do something that I love and would be able to control most of everything that happens. When I book, how much I charge, and even if I wanted to work at all. I can take photography up for a month then maybe take a couple weeks off. Keeps it fun.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well, I am a photographer and artist. SO I run my own photography business, I would say full time but really it is part time. It is a fun job, that pays well and doesn’t make me hate my life! I got here with the support of my family, with aggravating editing sessions and lots of putting myself outside my comfort zone. I definitely have a long way to go though. I overcame the challenged with the support. I feel like without that I would never have gotten to where I am today. I would want to let the world know that yes, I do what a lot of what everybody else does, but they also do what I do. Meaning we may have the same “job” or interest, but they will all turn out different in their own ways.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take them to Hannabi. Its a local ramen restaurant, they are amazing. Then probably dutch bros…I guess I am a foodie. I would probably take them to the art museums and a hyenas comedy club show. Thennn, probably get some more food.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to dedicate this shoutout to my husband, Francisco. He is the one who saw that I loved what I did and he was the one who pushed me to do it as a business. That I could turn it into more and become more as a person. He pushed me to learn more, become more creativity and to get myself out of my own shell.
