We had the good fortune of connecting with Naomi Herbert and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Naomi, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted more than my 9-5 Was able to give me. I I wanted more not only for myself but for my family. I work hard day in and day out building wealth for everyone else, but myself. I wanted my sacrifice to not be in vain. I was desperate for freedom to be creative and to walk in my calling.and pursue my passion in the culinary arts. I wanted to share a piece of me with the world.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
By day I’m an aircraft mechanic, i work for Lockheed Martin building the F35 for the armed forces. And I’m a chef by night. At one point in time my life was
25 hours a week at school
60 plus hours a week at work
30 plus hours at externship
While still being single mom to 5 children. And making the time to be present in their lives. The work school home balance was probably one of the hardest tasks I’ve ever had to accomplish. But I’ve learned quality over quantity. My children have been so understanding and patient with me during these seasons leading up to starting my business and now getting it off the ground. They’re my greatest cheerleaders. They make it worth the fight and sacrifice. But trying to navigate this culinary world without my greatest inspiration, my dad has been so tough. But there’s a level of heartache that comes with this. My biggest inspiration, my dad, passed away. And trying to find my way in this industry has been so hard without his guidance. But my drive to supersede his dreams for me is that bittersweet reminder that i use to keep going. I want people to know that my love for food and cooking is something that i think is ingrained in my fibers if my being. And when you experience what i have to offer i hope you can also experience a piece of my love and passion for what i do.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My dad is a huge part of why my heart beats for the culinary arts. He was a chef. His love and passion for creating in the kitchen sparked a fire within me. My children, they are my WHY. My mom, her West Indian background plays a huge part in why i love bold flavors. My sisters and brother have been some of my biggest supporters and advocates from the very beginning.
