Hi Mohammad (Talal), what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk, to me, is less about recklessness and more about believing in yourself enough to pursue something others might hesitate to do—while still having the discipline to prepare for the worst. Taking risks has been the backbone of my career. It’s what pushed me to start Digital Dominance and it’s what drove me to take an even bigger leap: buying The Tech Guys, and betting everything I had on turning it around.

At the time, I gave myself exactly one year to make it work. I invested my savings, time, and energy into transforming the brand, building systems, and scaling operations—all while simultaneously completing my Master’s. That degree wasn’t just a passion project—it was a calculated fallback plan. If things didn’t work out with the business, I’d be ready to pivot into a strong corporate role.

Risk is necessary—but calculated risk, backed by hard work and contingency planning, is powerful. It’s how you grow, and it’s how you win without leaving yourself behind.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Tech Guys wasn’t built overnight. It came from a place of passion and pure grit. My business partner, Ajmal Memon, and I have poured our blood, sweat, and tears into it. There were sleepless nights, constant challenges, setbacks—including getting robbed—and countless moments where most people would’ve walked away. But we didn’t. We couldn’t.

What sets us apart is our mindset. We don’t chase profitability—we chase people. Our goal is to genuinely help our customers, and by doing that, the business naturally grows. We built systems, optimized relentlessly, and slowly created something that could run even when we’re not around. It wasn’t easy—nothing worth building ever is—but with the help of our incredible manager Seth and a team that truly cares, we kept moving forward. You build calluses, you get stronger, and you learn to put out fires with calm and clarity.

I want people to know that The Tech Guys is more than a repair shop or a service—it’s a story of resilience, heart, and community. And I could never have done it without Ajmal by my side. We just refused to give up.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit, I’d show them the best halal eats and fun spots around Dallas and Frisco. We’d kick things off with lunch at Noodle Wave, then grab dessert at Somi Somi. A trip to Buc-ee’s is a must—it’s a Texas rite of passage.

We’d explore Grandscape, race at Andretti’s, and hang out at Legacy West for shopping and great vibes. I’d take them to Adriatica Village, which is not only beautiful but holds a special place in my heart—it’s where I had my first office job after undergrad.

We’d hit up downtown to the AT&T discovery district and The Star in Frisco. It’d be a trip full of fun, food, and unforgettable memories.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Without a doubt, my shoutout goes to my dad, Dr. Sattar Sheikh. He’s the hardest working person I know—always showing up, no matter how long the hours or how he was feeling. As a physician, his dedication to his patients and his family set the standard for what real commitment looks like. If I can become even a fraction of the man he is, I’d consider myself successful. His work ethic and drive have shaped mine, and I carry that with me every single day in everything I do.
