We had the good fortune of connecting with Mocha and The Flame Mysti & Brad-CORE Entertainment Group, Inc. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mocha and The Flame, what is the most important factor behind your success?
We believe that success is measured in a lot of ways. The biggest reason that we have been ‘successful’ in creating our brand and network of projects is simply that we do NOT look for acceptance from anyone else. Brad and I have been creating music, television/web, and film projects together for several years and we always go back to the same root concept-LIVING DELIBERATELY! If you keep creating on your own terms then you have already reached success. It doesn’t matter how many times you get knocked down by others or told NO by others or that others may not LIKE what you have created-WHO CARES???? Do you LOVE IT??? Did it feel GREAT creating it? Do YOU enjoy what you have created???-IF the answer is YES-then you my friend ARE successful! It downs’t take film festival or number 1 song to tell you that you are successful; it just takes you loving what you put out! Success is getting off your butt and grinding on your skills and talents everyday! Just do you! The rest will fall into place.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
One of the main things that sets us apart in film and the entertainment industry itself, is that we don’t cower to the headlines. We create our projects in our own way-doing what we like. We are different in this industry because we don’t bend to the will of others who want us to change because they think we are too wholesome or too ‘vanilla’. We believe that hard work and self worth will take you as far as you wish to go.

We have learned many lessons along the way including staying true to yourself and your ideas. I promise you, if you keep your faith and mind in the right place then your story will be the one that people will continue to want to hear and watch.

It is NEVER easy to admit that your career IS the entertainment industry-especially for those of us who are a couple in the workplace. Most of society wants you to believe that being a couple and being creative together will cause problems at home. I am here to tell you that IT CAN BE DONE! We do our best work while we collaborate. You have to stay grounded but you will be successful and you will create a life worth having both in profession and personal lives.

We want the world to know that it is okay to be different no matter what you are doing. It is okay to stay true to your belief system and to say NO when it isn’t something you want to be known for. Do NOT change your life to adapt to someone else’s opinions. Stay TRUE to you and what you want to leave behind as your legacy.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If we were having people visit from out of town-we would take them to Dallas for the food that has been featured on Triple D. They say the stomach is the way to a man’s soul-feed them and they will come back! It is always great to share stories over food and to get to learn more about other cultures through food. One of our favorite places would be Whistle Britches-some of the best BISCUITS we have every had! The other place we would go is to La-Hacienda Ranch-If You LOVE Mexican food-this is the way to do it! The menu is not extravagant, but the FALVOR is off the charts! You gotta try it at least once!

The Rodeo Circuit-You haven’t experienced Texas if you haven’t gone to the Rodeo!

The last place we could suggest as strange as it sounds is Canton Trades Day for First Monday of the month! This is like the ultimate flea market and the carnival-style food is outta this world! We always have the same things-street corn, philly cheese steaks, corn dogs, turkey legs and funnel cakes! It is ALL worth it!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We both have a long list of influential people in our lives and it is hard to name them all, but here are a few: Mysti-My father-for he presented the Bible to me and it laid a foundation and it has been the one true and only way for me to have found the right path on this journey of life! I had the pleasure of meeting Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton and many others in the film industry that always gave the same advice-“Write what you know”.-Those words are still very present in my life and projects today, especially music. Film-I would say JJ Abrams and Ken Olin are at the top of my list. I really like the Candace Bushnells of the world when I am feeling ‘girlie’ as well.

Brad-Anyone who is successful in their own right. Jack, Ito-an author of some of the BEST self improvement and relationship building books on the market. IF you are struggling in life with personal, professional or even family relationships-HE is your go to guy! Mysti and I are currently working on a new film project entitled “Want Love?…” this is going to be one of our most impactful projects that we have worked on both together and separately.

We find ways to be thankful and grateful for all who have entered our lives and taught us that it is OKAY to do what we love! That is what we do everyday to make our dreams come true.
