Meet Miya Brown | Founder Networking Queens Group

We had the good fortune of connecting with Miya Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Miya, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Work-life balance has evolved so much for me over the years.
In my 20s and 30s, I was a full-time mom, building a media and marketing career from the ground up with two young daughters depending on me. I didn’t have the luxury of “balance” back then—I had purpose and survival mode. I worked hard in an industry I loved, while making sure my girls had everything they needed. That time shaped my grit and work ethic.
Now, in my 40s, I’m entering a new season—one that still includes building but with more wisdom, boundaries, and intention. I’m the founder of Networking Queens Group, a brand that’s all about connection, community, and collaboration. I’m also back in school, finishing my degree and getting certified to pivot into HR/tech—proof that it’s never too late to evolve.
Personally, I’m prioritizing me in ways I never have before—spiritually, emotionally, and physically. From solo travel and gym days to therapy and leadership training at my church, I finally understand that balance doesn’t mean doing it all. It means doing what aligns with where God is taking me.
This season is about legacy, alignment, and walking fully in purpose—with rest, peace, and power.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work is rooted in storytelling, connection, and purpose. With over 20 years in media, journalism, and PR entertainment, I’ve built a career amplifying voices and creating platforms for others to shine, while still in the corporate world . Networking Queens Group (NQG) is a lifestyle brand and media platform that connects women and men through networking, collaboration, and visibility. What sets me apart is my authenticity, my deep understanding of people, and my ability to turn conversations into movements.
But this journey hasn’t been easy. I’ve navigated single motherhood, loss, financial strain, and major career transitions. I built a business while raising two daughters, often with no blueprint but sheer determination and faith. I’ve worn many hats—host, strategist, speaker, producer, and now, student again. I’m currently pivoting into the HR/tech space, proving that reinvention isn’t a trend—it’s a lifestyle.
What I’m most proud of is how I kept showing up, even in the silence. I’ve had seasons where no one clapped, but I still created. I still served. And now, as an empty nester and grandmother, I’m more excited than ever to build legacy. From launching Instagram Lives with intention, to publishing my first memoir – 2026 to mentoring the next wave of dreamers—I’m just getting started.
What I want the world to know is this: I’m not here for the spotlight, I’m here for impact. My brand isn’t just a business—it’s a calling. Networking Queens is about community, sisterhood, visibility, and bold faith. We’re not just networking—we’re building nations.
The biggest lessons I’ve learned?
• Rest is productive.
• Obedience over ego.
• And purpose will always outlast pressure.
So if you’re watching my journey, just know—it’s real, it’s raw, and it’s God-led.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely. My journey has never been one I walked alone.
First and foremost, I have to shout out my two daughters and my grandson—they are the heartbeat behind everything I do. Being a mother shaped my drive, and now watching them step into adulthood reminds me daily why I kept going.
I also want to honor my late father and my mother. My dad’s presence in my life—even in his final moments—left me with a sense of legacy, strength, and wisdom I carry with me always. And my mom’s unwavering love, guidance, and faith has been my anchor through every chapter.
Spiritually, I give glory to God. My relationship with Christ has sustained me through loss, reinvention, and growth. He’s the reason I’m still standing, dreaming, and building.
Professionally, I have to thank the women in my community—especially the Networking Queens Group. What started as a small idea became a platform of connection, empowerment, and purpose. The support from peers, clients, and collaborators has been humbling. Special thanks to my leadership program family and mentors who’ve challenged me to expand, return to school, and pivot into HR/tech.
Lastly, I’d be remiss not to mention the countless conversations, books, and silent prayers that have poured into me during quiet seasons. From therapy to journaling, every tool helped me evolve.
So my shoutout is layered—it’s for my bloodline, my faith walk, my tribe, and the unseen hands that kept me covered.
