We had the good fortune of connecting with Mina Obradovic and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mina, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
We at Early Birds Club Balkans are a volunteer organization, so the most important factor behind our success (even though I’d say we’re still in initial stages of growth) is that we invested ourselves into it. We don’t wait for “somebody else” to do something, even if it doesn’t fall under our “job description”. There is no ownership, we work for the same selfless cause because we believe in it. As the founder of Early Birds Club says, “The best thing you can give to the world is yourself.” And that’s what we try to do in EBC too
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Early Birds Club (EBC) was born out of a vision that we can have a world with less wars if we connect to ourselves early in the morning, before merging with the world. The more chaotic we are, the more anxious, depressive, angry, upset we are, the more chaos we leave around us. People around us will have less respect for us, we will feel less confident, and products of our actions will be weaker and less effective.
I’m most excited about spreading this truth far accross the globe and Balkans of course, which is where I’m from. Early Birds Club unites people of all ages to be their best selves and succeed in all segments of life. We stand for unity, despite country, race and religion.
I cannot say I’ve got too far professionally because I’m still young and learning, but if I’ve achieved anything it was because of consistency, determination, believing in what I do. Even when times are critical, we feel demotivated, we can still work on what we believe in, and we shouldn’t stop because of any obstacle or opinions of others.
It’s even better if what we believe in also benefits the society, the world. Widening the circle of my attention from “myself, my parents, my family, my life” to “my society, my country, my world” gave me so many opportunities and experiences. Fueling ourselves with selflessness fuels us with success.
Was it easy? It was and it wasn’t, depending which part and which angle. Challenges have come for sure but as I have said earlier – focus, determination, consistency, no ownership, no expectation from others, being ready to do it all yourself if you have to, proved to be effective in my endeavors.
Who do you think deserves credits for who you are today?
My spiritual guide Mohanji was the biggest support. I owe my thanks to him and to all the wonderful people I have worked with so far. And of course to my supportive parents and family.
