We had the good fortune of connecting with Mikaila Montgomery and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mikaila, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
You always keep going. Giving up is never an option. Giving up is a cowards way out. You may have to change direction or try again, multiple times, but giving up is never an option.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When we started Eagle Eye Cleaning in 2019, I was working for a Baseball player who asked me to help him start a cleaning company so that his current maids would always have something to fall back on. The two ladies and myself went door to door. We left flyers, we spoke to people, we did consultations, and slowly but surely built a clientele who needed our services. One of the main things we focus on is operating in excellence. We made a pact the service would always be the same quality, in a timely manner, with the best attitude and sticking to that creed, word of mouth spread even farther than our marketing. Our team quickly grew from 3 of us to over 20 employees. When the pandemic happened, we were able to keep working and helping people to keep their homes safe and clean by disinfecting on a regular basis.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take them to all of the amazing spots the DFW has to offer. From Deep Ellum and all the amazing quirky shops and bars to the Star in Frisco, to the Omni and PGA in Frisco. We would absolutely have to hit Legacy Hall at the Shops of Legacy, we would go to Legacy East and West for some good shopping and food. We would visit the new Library in Frisco. We would visit Lafinca for some amazing coffee and lunch and K27 Performance for an good workout to get the blood pumping. We would also visit Tender Smokehouse for some awesome bbq.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many different factors that bring me to this point. One of my good friends and Advisor, Jay Bass of Rise Sports Advisors has always been a sounding board for me. Helping me to invest in my personal growth by recommending books, introductions and sound advice, he definitely gets some credit here. My family has always been a large support group for me and most of all my kids and staff. I couldn’t do this without them. My children simply because I know they are watching and I want to be sure to give them the best representation of determination, grit and success, and my staff because it takes a team. No one can do everything, be everywhere and think they will be successful. My team has strong suits that I don’t necessarily have. We all have our lane and we navigate it individually to make this entire machine run smoothly.
