We had the good fortune of connecting with Justice Quinn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Justice, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I ask myself this question all the time. haha but all jokes aside I just wanted to be able to creates spaces for clients that had a unique expression to them. I wanted a career where I could creatively flow, but also have great client relationships so decorating fell right in line. I guess more so the thought process to start was a gap I saw in rooms designed and furnished with a healthy mix of old and new. It’s my goal to see historic homes in the area filled with historic design.

What should our readers know about your business?
Justice Quinn Interiors is a company driven by shapes and objects. For years I would spend my free time collecting objects and training my eye before the time came to step out and start my own firm. I try not to think about what sets me apart often, but I guess really it’s an ability to mix sculptural objects with furniture in a way that is convincing and comfortable. I always want JQI to be a design firm that takes client specific chances tailored to them so in return they are left with a room that they love for years to come, but also looks different than their neighbors.

It hasn’t been easy, but the journey starting out over the past year and a half has been very rewarding. Every room we’ve designed has been such an enjoyable process and the client relationships ive made along the way have kept me going.

The main lesson i’ve learned along the way so far is to slow down. The first year and a half of business has come and gone just like that. I’ve got to get better at living in each moment and loving the process of creating these spaces. To often im consumed by stress that I forget about my true love for this career. That love can never be forgotten. I hope to always be able to tap into that in the future.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Tulsa is a gem of a city. If my best friend was visiting we’d have to start our morning with coffee at nordaggios, followed by a tour of ORU to admire the beautiful architecture of Frank Wallace, lunch on brookside at PURE food and juice(best salad in town and i’m not a salad guy.) For drinks at night i’d suggest Valkyrie and for day activities id suggest walks along riverside and downtown admiring Tulsa’s rich architectural history while mixing in a few more wonderful lattes at local favorites like chimera and cirque. For me Tulsa is a city to be experienced.. All of my days are spent around town chatting to all the lovely people working in costumer service… The people are what make the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to dedicate my shoutout to my wife, Vora Quinn. If it wasn’t for her push and trust I would never be where I am today. She keeps the business going.
