We had the good fortune of connecting with Mikaela Womack and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mikaela, how do you think about risk?
I think when people say risk they get scared because you could lose it all by making that risk, but what if that risk changed your life for the better. Life is all about taking risks, you will never know what happens if you just keep “ what if” everything. You have to step out your comfort zone and take risks to succeed, your comfort zone will kill you.
I put off starting my business for years because I was scared of failure but Im realizing that failure is the key to success you have to fail to win and you have to lose it all to win it all.

What should our readers know about your business?
Cloud5ivelashes means a lot to me just by the name because 5ive. The 5 comes from my brother and I growing up with our 3 cousins, thats all we had growing up a lot of the times. Im most proud and excited to become a business owner myself and say I did it all by myself because a lot of people get handouts which is totally okay but not everyone is able to have that luxury so sharing my story for others to read and get inspired brings joy to my heart because it makes me fell like i’m doing something right. Starting off i had nothing. When I finally decided what I wanted to do in life I was a senior in high school, just bought my first car in cash i saved money all year long and finally told myself its time to get a car. 6 months later I was on the way to pick my brother up from school and a young girl ran a stop sign and hit me totaled my car left me with no money nothing. I had to start all over i felt like the world was against me. I started working more going out less, lost all my friends, was going through a miscarriage. It was very emotionally draining for me especially since I couldn’t turn to no one to talk about anything I was going through. Once I graduated high school and turned 18 I went to finance me a car I had it for 3 months when I was on the way to work, mind you my job is literally 3 minutes from my house, the light just turned green me and the young girl in the left lane went at the same time, A older lady came running through the red light and hit both of us but mainly me, my car spun did a whole 360. Totaled another car of mine and it wasn’t my fault again so I automatically thought “what am I doing wrong” “does God not want me to become an eyelash technician “ which sounds dumb but im a very
“everything happens for a reason” type of person and when that happened all i could this was “Lord what am I not seeing”. I started to put God first and just let him take control. I started working 2 jobs saved up 5000 and decided this is what i want to do I want to be in the beauty industry. Growing up my mom was always negative saying that going into the beauty industry wouldn’t get me no where and that I wont be successful. That made me feel less as a child growing up especially coming from a broken home i didn’t know what to do for myself mentally. I put my foot down and decided to do it for me. I haven’t started my Brand yet but its a work in progress and a dream of mine that will come true. It wasn’t easy and it still isn’t easy. Starting a business is hard especially when you have no background knowledge. I wish I would’ve found a good legal team to do
trademarks for me. The legal team 1 had at the time definitely didn’t do their job so that sucked. Legally protect your business as early as you can with trademarks, LLCs, contracts etc. Organized my expenses and finances better for tax purposes. I wish I would’ve just hired a CPA right away so that there wasn’t more work later. I see so many people say “oh you can wait” and NO don’t wait. I felt so overwhelmed by this portion of business in the beginning and it was even worse later on. Just do it, trust me you’ll be glad you did.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
in Fort Worth the stock yards are a big thing so we definitely would have to stop there, eat and just go walk or go to a bar and just enjoy a night out. The botanical gardens is beautiful I would recommend to anyone that loves being outside, one with nature or even a nice cool day to walk around and enjoy Gods creation. The water gardens as well is beautiful definitely would recommend.
Ive never been to Dallas so I definitely would make some kind of reservations at a nice restaurant down town, i’ve always wanted to eat at the ball in Dallas , i’m
not sure if thats even the name lol but its all the way up in the sky and I could only imagine the view.
The wax Museum is awesome I would definitely have to go there and make more memories.
I love trying new food so honestly any restaurant that Ive never been to would be on the list for us to eat, and of course just spend a day in the house together catching up.
