We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Lewis-Hefley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
At the beginning of my career I was in survival mode because I was going through some rough times in my life. The only things that was going through my mind at the time was…I have to make sure my kids are good and that they don’t feel the shift that was happening for us at the time. I have to show my “babies” how to “boss up” from a situation like this if they were ever in this type of situation. Most importantly…ain’t nobody ever going to keep me from being great in life no matter what life throws at me.

My career picked up quickly, so quickly that I was on the verge of burnout and rethinking my career. Until I decided to invest in myself, my craft, and go out and find the resources that was going to help me become a successful business owner.

With intensive mentorship programs and communities that help me strive to be a better salon owner, beauty pro, overall better person inside and out. Helps me understand how balance is important and needed throughout all those areas.

Finding the right amount of balance helps me focus better, become more creative, make right decisions, but most importantly pour all that good energy into all areas.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Crowned by Jewlz wasn’t just built to make a profit , it was built on purpose. God blessed me with a gift, and I knew it wasn’t something I could keep to myself. This has been my passion since I was a little girl… now I’m just out here making my inner child proud.

This brand is more than business, it’s my mission. It’s how I pour back into others through beauty, wellness, and healing from the inside out.

My business has been part of my healing journey, helping me work through past trauma and life experiences. Now, it’s become a safe space where I can give that same love back to my clients. A space to heal, grow, and show up as your true self. No judgment, just real vibes and real care.

Is it difficult? Heck yea it is but let’s be real, nothing in life worth having comes easy. You have to show up consistently, stay laser focused, block out the outside distractions and push through. Everybody has problems, the real power is in how you choose to solve them. You can stay stuck, or you can shift. The choice is always yours. You are the creator to your own destiny.

There were so many lessons I had to learn to get where I am today. It wasn’t always easy, but every setback taught me something. At the end of the day… those lessons turned into blessings and they’re still unfolding.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m family oriented so I would say Epic Waters, KidZania, and Fort Worth Zoo is a few favorites for us.

Major shoutout to my loc mentor Pauline Walker, owner of Entoi Beauty. God really did his big one when she became my loc business coach. The way she moves with purpose, passion, and excellence as a Loctician? Yeah… it makes you wanna level all the way up! I’m beyond grateful for her guidance, her hustle, and her heart. Thank you for showing me what greatness looks like up close! You have a special place in my heart and like I say…you’re stuck with me boo! 😉🫶🏾

Another major shoutout to my leader, the one and only Seven Figure Spa Chick, Candace Holyfield Parker! I connected with her through Pauline at the Locpreneur Experience Seminar. When I tell you God was doing no playing that day because she really is the spa GOAT… hands down!!! Just being tapped in with her puts you on a whole new level.
