We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Addington and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have been out of workforce for a long time to be home with my children and now that they are in school I wanted to do something with my time. I knew I wanted to start my own business so I could continue to have flexibility and I needed a creative outlet. Getting to curate my own chains, links and charms has fulfilled my creative side. And being able to meet so many new people while adding a simple and classic piece to their everyday look brings me so much joy.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have my own style, that is simple, clean and classic which my jewelry embodies. It isn’t loud but just adds to each individual person. It’s definitely not easy when it feels like so many are doing what you are doing but it’s important to remember that there is room for all of us to succeed and cheer each other on.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We love our small town of Midlothian! There’s many new restaurants and live music every weekend. We could hit up a brewery and go down Main Street for some shopping. Go to the local farmers market and hit up some nature trails.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband has been so supportive throughout the starting of this business. He has helped me get things going and helped more with day to day life so I could focus on my business and hit the ground running. He is there to give his opinion and help me make some of the harder decisions.
