Meet Michael Watkins II | CEO of The Code Chasers

We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Watkins II and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michael, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The idea for this business came to me in 2019 but between school and COVID my idea was put on the back burner but I never forgot about it! I built this subscription service because I saw a need for Children and Adults to learn Computer and Coding Skills in a self-paced environment from the comfort of their own homes. I also had a difficult time gaining the skills I needed and I knew that other people were facing this challenge as well. The biggest challenges I faced were cost and location availability. The Code Chasers Subscription Service solves all those challenges and more! We have subscribers that are 6 years old to 83 years young learning new skills to transform their lives!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Code Chasers subscription service teaches Children & Adults Computer and Coding Skills through our various series including: Mike’s Tech Support, Introduction to Coding and Roblox Game Development 101. More series will be added in the first quarter of this year. It’s just $19.99 per month we chose this price point to ensure the information could be available to everyone. What sets our Subscription Service apart from others is that it’s for everyone! A service the whole family can enjoy! What I am most proud of is that I had this idea for two years and I didn’t give up on bringing the concept to market. I am so excited about the people I am serving with these life changing skills. This service aligns perfectly with the mission of The Code Chasers which is changing lives through Technology and building the next generation workforce.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well if I was showing my friends around the awesome Metroplex I would have to take them some of my favorite places. We absolutely love Terra Mediterranean. They have a Mediterranean Buffet that can’t be beat! We love to enjoy the weather here in many of our Parks. One of our favorites is Fort Worth’s Trinty Park and Candleridge Park. Another neat place is Sugarless Delite in Richardson we are able to get all of our sweet treats with none of the guilt. We also love live music so we go to Central Market in Fort Worth and enjoy a great dinner from there freshly prepared food area and live music.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a shout out to Neetu Rishi of The Success Door. Her courses for youth have been life changing for me. Also she has always supported me in my Entrepreneurial Dreams. I would also like to shout out my family who always supports me and my Mom who always believes in me.
