We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always wanted to be a business owner and knew I would own my own business just wasn’t sure what it would be. I’ve always loved clothes, but my passion and affinity for menswear started when I worked for a well known suit store. For me it was the perfect marriage between what I’ve always wanted and what I now love.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
So I’m a custom clothier and the name of my company is Micade custom clothiers. Tons of clothiers have entered the industry in the past few years. What sets me apart is education. I’m big on educating my client on why we select and design the pieces we choose. I don’t like to just send them out without an idea or clue of what they’re wearing or why. It’s been a lot of hardwork and late hours. I’m not where I want to be, but I’ve made some great strides and I’m excited about the future. I’ve discovered that some of the same lessons I’ve learned in life apply to owning a business. Discipline, patience, and consistency play a huge part in running a successful business. Micade will be household name one day. We’ll shape and change the aesthetics of men and women all around the world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m very simple, layed back and easy going. Point me in the direction of the best cigar lounge with great drinks and I’m happy. Most of my friends smoke cigars too, so they’d be thrilled also. We’d also visit some of the best restaurants in town as well. Can’t forget the food. And maybe checkout a live band. That’s as good as it gets with me.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wouldn’t be where I am without God. And of course the support of my family and friends.
