We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Kelly and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is the why I’m doing it. I don’t only do it to glorify Jesus, but I do it for the people who need that encouragement or hope to move on. Life beats us down, but with someone there to help us along the way, will make it easier.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been a playwright for 10 years in counting. Just sharing the gospel through my plays has been truly a blessing. Not only through plays, I’ve written three books (Man Up, Die To Self, Money Talks) all my books help people through this journey we call life

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’ve been in Dallas for 5 years now I haven’t really been around a lot, but my fav place to eat is definitely Texas Roadhouse (there rolls are Heaven sent lol) also Deep Ellum is a place I love to just walk around and hang at.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are many people in my life that deserves credit. First and foremost God deserves the credit. Without Him what I do won’t be done. Secondly it’s my wife (Naomi Kelly) she makes sure I dot every I and cross every T. A man needs the support from his wife. Then of course it’s my mom, dad and brother. The love that my mom showed, the wisdom that my dad shared and the pressure from my brother. All of that was needed to be who I needed to be.
