Meet Micah | Singer songwriter entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Micah and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Micah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
“Honestly, it was about ownership and legacy. I’ve spent years giving my time, creativity, and energy to jobs and industries that didn’t reflect my full value. At some point, I realized I didn’t want to just participate — I wanted to build something I could pass down, something that reflected my culture, my voice, and my vision. My business isn’t just about content or music; it’s about creating a sustainable ecosystem where creativity meets strategy. I wanted to be in control of the narrative, the revenue, and the reach — and the only way to do that was to build it myself.”

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Right now, I’m most excited about my proper debut as an artist — but this time, I’m doing it on my terms. I’m setting everything up in-house, with full ownership. I’ve learned the hard way how important it is to not just create, but to own the systems behind what you build. This chapter isn’t just about releasing music — it’s about building legacy through intentional structure, strategy, and soul.
What sets me apart is my mind, my vision, my sound, my work ethic — and the culture and upbringing that shaped me. Nobody else has lived my life. I get to reflect that experience through my art and channel it into everything I touch, from music to business ventures to owning my own label .
My journey has not been easy — I’ve worked, hustled, sacrificed, and learned in the shadows for years. But every closed door taught me something. Every setback sharpened my strategy. The biggest lesson has been to trust my timing, honor my process, and never shrink my vision to make others comfortable.
I want the world to know that I’m not here by accident — I’m building something that represents not just me, but the women, the creatives, and the culture I come from. This is about more than music — it’s a movement rooted in ownership, vision, and authenticity.”
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Since moving to DFW, I’ve discovered so many places that feel like they feed both my creative side and my soft life side. If my best friend came to visit for a week, I’d curate a full vibe — a mix of culture, luxury, food, and community.
First, we’d definitely check out one of the day parties — Dallas knows how to do upscale brunch energy with music, good food, and stylish people. Then we’d unwind at a luxury movie theater like iPic or Look Dine-In — because having gourmet food and drinks brought to your seat is the energy I’m on right now.
I’d take them on a little driving tour to see some of the beautiful mansions and neighborhoods out here — I love getting inspired by the architecture and dreaming big.
On the cultural side, we’d visit Korean BBQ spots, Asian grocers, and Indian plazas — I love discovering unique snacks, beauty finds, incense, and little cultural gems you can’t get everywhere. It’s the kind of stuff that keeps my creative juices flowing.
Greenville Avenue would definitely be a part of the itinerary — it’s such a cool area to walk up and down, pop into little restaurants, bars, or thrift shops, and just take in the vibe.
On the weekend, we’d check out some of the local street markets or outdoor vendor events — I love how many small businesses and creators pop out with their products, from handmade goods to food trucks and vintage fashion. It feels like a community celebration every time.
And if there’s a good networking mixer or creative event happening, I’m taking them there too — DFW has such a vibrant ecosystem of Black and Brown entrepreneurs, artists, and visionaries who are building something special.
The city has this unique mix — you can experience luxury, culture, and grind energy all in one week. That’s what makes DFW exciting to me.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely — I come from a family that really planted the seeds of both purpose and entrepreneurship in me. My mother and father both studied law, and their influence shaped how I see the world. My dad owned his own business and would always hand me books on business, ownership, and mindset. My mom became the quiet force behind everything I do — handling contracts, offering wisdom, and making sure I move with clarity and intention. My sister deserves just as much credit — she’s my creative partner, my co-star, and one of my biggest sources of inspiration. We hold each other accountable in this journey.
I also want to thank the Recording Academy — their mentorship opened my eyes to the business behind music and gave me a clearer picture of what’s possible for independent artists like myself.
And above all, God. None of this would be possible without divine timing, protection, and alignment. Every idea, every door that opened, every time I almost gave up but didn’t — that was God. I’m just following the blueprint.”
