We had the good fortune of connecting with Micaela Deegan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Micaela, what are you inspired by?
I am inspired by the women who refuse to give up, even when circumstances surrounding them are telling them that they should. I am inspired by the women who choose to take their painful experiences, mistakes, and setbacks and use them as a guide to help other women overcome the painful hurdles on their own journey.

I am convinced that these types of women who rise from the ashes are able to help others heal because they are able to pour wisdom into those who do not see the light at the end of the tunnel. It is these women who have the ability to speak from a place of conviction, experience, and authenticity because they understand that after the painful seasons there is joy, peace, and beauty.

Isaiah 61:3 says that God will give a crown of beauty for ashes. God brings joy out of the sorrow in your life even when things look messy. I speak on this with full confidence because I have seen God move in areas of my life where I felt I was hopeless and purposeless. Some things are truly an unexplainable “God – thing or God – moment.”

But here is the thing, in order to be this “rise from the ashes” type of woman you have to embark on a healing journey so that you can shed the parts of you that will hinder you as you begin to rise. I celebrate the women who are brave enough to confront their pain and begin to evolve into who they were created to be.

It’s a beautiful metamorphosis journey.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?

Let’s talk about how it all started: Podcasting – something that so many women are afraid to do but yet have a longing to do. If you ask me it is an art like any other art, because you have to speak with conviction, authenticity, and integrity (that part is HUGE for me.)

3 ½ years ago I had no idea that podcasting would introduce me to a world filled with creatives who were either finding their voice or had already found it. For me, I didn’t just find my voice I began to heal with every word and with every episode. I began to see that women were waiting for someone to peel the layers of every heavy topic I talked about. More importantly it was the stories that bonded women together, because sometimes pain and setbacks are what allows others to have a glimpse into the life of another person.

But podcasting truly was the inspiration that God dropped in my heart to be brave and to start using my voice. “Finding my voice evolved from a place of being uncomfortable. I felt awkward, nervous, and scared in the beginning of my podcast journey. I felt like giving up so many times. I was still fighting through a lot of limiting beliefs about myself. I kept going because if other women were telling me the podcast was helping them, then I couldn’t stop no matter how I felt.” (Dear Fearless Mujer, You Were Create for More)

You see being fearless has nothing to do with fear, but more than anything it’s about fearing less. When you do the things in your heart even if you have some fear you begin to show yourself that you are competent, capable, and powerful.

The Fearless Mujer brand exists to remind Mujeres/ Women everywhere that their painful past, their setbacks, and mistakes do not define them. – You were created for so much more!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A friend visiting is definitely a time for tacos! My friends know how much I love tacos, and I will make a reason to have some. I would take my friend out for some authentic tacos, while also making a stop at the local coffee shop. To be honest I am a homebody, so anywhere that is chill I’m down to hang out with friends. I truly love to feed those I love so if I can make a meal at my place I find that to be extra special. Homemade food fills your soul. I’m originally from Chicago so I myself am still exploring so many parts of the DFW area.
I will say that I love hanging out at the duck pond in Capp Smith Park. It feels so peaceful to me and I think it’s great for a night time stroll.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out my beautiful daughter Natalie, but mostly I want to thank her for being the light in my life. She showed me what it truly means to be courageous, brave, and fearless. It is because of her that life took on a path to healing and finding my voice. I never knew that a little girl could have the power to confront her own giants, until I saw her.

And to my inner circle, thank you loving me for exactly who I am. You keep it real, pray with me, and allow me to laugh like crazy and cry when needed. I love you all so much.
