We had the good fortune of connecting with Mica Mackenzie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mica, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I knew from a young age that I didn’t want to get stuck in the typical 9-5 job scenario. I tried a lot of different things before I settled on running a boutique online agency, but logistically I realized those other options weren’t well suited toward the way I like to live my life. Running an online media & marketing firm has enabled me to work from home full time and use my creative talents to build businesses all over the nation. It feels like a real win-win.
What should our readers know about your business?
QN Media & Marketing Firm is comprised of a tight-knit team of specialists in the areas of SEO, Social Media, Influencer Marketing, Email Marketing, Virtual Assistance, Graphic Design and more! We service small business owners, large corporations, and bloggers and influencers all over the United States. Our innovative strategies, superb customer service, and the diverse skillsets of our specialists are what set us apart from other boutique marketing agencies and/or firms. It was a long road to get where we are today. We started initially as a blogging collective and continued to grow into an Entertainment Company before our services got traction and we made the official transition into a full-service Media & Marketing Firm. During the two years it took to get where we are today, I learned so many valuable lessons on how to manage employees, how to take our service offerings to the next level, and how to interact with clients for maximum effect. I think the timing of our success was perfect since I could use these newfound skills to bolster our growth.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As a 6-year Dallas native, I’d recommend these cool spots: Good Eats: Mesomaya, Rusty Taco, Zalat Pizza, Pecan Lodge BBQ Activities: Visit the arboretum, go to the Art or Perot Museum, hang out in Deep Ellum
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to shoutout Josh Harrison and Sarah Brice for helping me make my dreams of running QN a reality. From filing legal paperwork to listening to my business plans- these two individuals have been there for me since day 1 and I couldn’t be more thankful for their support. I would also like to shoutout my Assistant and the VP of QN- Brigetta Jones- for being my right-hand girl through the ups and downs and for constantly going above and beyond in her work for me.
