We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Owens and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Megan, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Since I was 23, I’ve wanted to venture off and explore uncapped financial opportunities as an entrepreneur. With a few years of bartending experience, I decided to pursue one of many passions I have that could advance me to the next level right after completing my undergraduate degree.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
A lot of people have the desire to become an entrepreneur but the key question isn’t always what? it is how? How do I get from point A to Z in order to reach my goal. After meeting my first client, I made triple the income than what was expected which gave me more courage to move forward. The most difficult part was in the beginning, was trying to find the consistency in gigs lined up to maintain the operations of business. I began accepting bookings even if they were far away to gain a larger variety of clientele.

A great lesson I learned before I started my own business was to treat all of my clients the same.

I wanted to ensure that they all receive a luxury mobile bar experience, and that they all receive a curated cocktail menu for each event, along with top tier service to allow my company to stand apart from others.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For each day that my friend is in town, I’d make sure we’d visit all of the major tourist attractions Dallas has to offer. Because Uptown and Oaklawn is one of the most diverse areas in Dallas, I’d take her there for nightlife. We’d go to the XOXO and Lexy’s for chic spots to dine. We’d to go to AT&T Stadium to see the football game. We’d go to the State fair, the Botanical Garden, and places like Grandscape or Grapevine for more family friendly activities during her stay.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have family that lives local who helps support me in almost all of my events that have been booked in 2022.
