We had the good fortune of connecting with Marlin Ousley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marlin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to create a platform where people who traditional publishers wouldn’t work. With could get their books out to the public.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Circle six publishing was established while i was incarcerated because i was around many individuals who had written books yet gad no resources or other outlets in which to get their work in the hands of readers. Being incarcerated for the past 27 years i had to become resourceful inorder to make this possible. Our stories are real testaments of real people. Stories that the ordinary person can relate to. I want the world to understand that our brand wishes to educate people through books and eventually publish magazines as well.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well in miami there’s always something to get into. I’d show them South Beach and the nightlife of course. Then we’d dine at Houston’s a nice upscale restaurant. Then I’d take them through wynwood the art district.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
