We had the good fortune of connecting with Marisol Miner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marisol, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We had been doing workouts at our home and several of our friends kept asking if they could come and workout with us. I eventually started inviting other women and they would invite their friends and I realized that I loved seeing them reach their goals. I began to help women who were post natal and then started personal training women that wanted to learn how to get stronger and lift weights properly. I had always been passionate about health and the relationship between food and health. And for many of my clients they would see results but when we would talk about nutrition and set goals for that then the big results would come. I decided to get certified in nutrition and began helping people reach their goals of weight loss and overall health. M5Fit was born to incorporate all of the things that I can do to help people get healthy and reach their goals.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
M5Fit is not just a business it’s my passion and what sets me apart is the relationships that I build with my clients. I am ultimately trying to help my clients with lifestyle changes that are sustainable. It’s obvious to them from the start that I care and that my goal is to help them wherever they are at. And part of how I help them is to teach them how to make the choices on their own that will help them going forward for many years. My approach empowers them to be in charge of their own journey and I serve as the guide. My personal journey has not been easy. I have struggled with self doubt. I have learned so much about belief in yourself and your purpose throughout this journey and I really believe that is what helps me the most when I am speaking to my clients. I have learned that you have to stay positive especially when it comes to self talk and that no matter how many times you fall or someone closes a door on you you have to keep getting back up and moving forward.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband hands down! He is an amputee turned pro fighter and Professor in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I went through a period in life where I was struggling with anxiety and depression. He kept encouraging me to workout because he knew it would help me to feel better. I finally agreed to do a workout with him and as he was writing the workout on our dry erase board I saw him write “50 situps” as one of the exercises. I looked at him and said “I cant do 50 situps”. His response “well now you have already told yourself that”. He has taught me so much about belief in yourself, hard work, perseverance, and helping others to be better.
