We had the good fortune of connecting with Marisa Peebles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marisa, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
The absolute single most important decision I made that has contributed success to my business has been trusting God. I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit and allowed my passion to drive my creativity in all things I do. With the economy, markets, and culture constantly shifting, it caused me to dramatically shift my focus to where I’m investing my time, abilities, and my faith. Once I started investing more time to my relationship with God everything fell into place. During a morning quiet time and journaling session this “idea” popped into my head, later understanding it was God speaking to me. Of course, the enemy tried to use doubt and worry to derail God’s plan, which is always the scheme, to separate us from God. But that wasn’t nearly enough to stop me from executing my business plan. Recently I have been able to armor myself with practices to keep me protected from strategies the enemy has tried to use against me and my family. But I haven’t always had this defense, it’s been uncomfortable at times and taken intentional release of the things I cherish most in this world. The Lord has taken care of me, my family, our careers, my marriage, everything the moment I decided to hand them over. I believe I was given this opportunity to share my story about Pawsitive Impact Pet Services and trusting God through the process. It wouldn’t be possible without Him.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own Pawsitive Impact Pet Services, an all-inclusive canine servicing company here in Dallas-Fort Worth. We perform services including, but not limited to: boarding, daycare, basic training programming, hygienic and bathing care, bark bus transportation, walking, and more. From years of experience working in boarding facilities to being a veterinary technician, I am armed with knowledge and ready to take on all behaviors and conditions that each dog presents. Safety is always the #1 priority, #2 is bonding with each dog and building a unique relationship. It was not easy to trust the process at first, but God provided the clientele and equipped me with resources to make an impactful impression on my clients and their families. The #1 lesson I’ve learned is to lay struggles, successes, and everything in between at the feet of Jesus and praise Him during the success and the struggle.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Top things to do in DFW would be to have a girls brunch at the XO Dining Room in Dallas, lunch at Hutchins Barbeque in Trophy Club, and dinner at Tower Club Dallas or The Constellation Club in Irving. Activities wise, I would have an outing at Big Shots Golf in Fort Worth, go dancing at Billy Bobs in Fort Worth or Red River in Dallas, see if there were any concerts or events going on at the Toyota Music Factory in Irving, go on a hike to Prayer Mountain in Cedar Hill or Prayer Garden in North Richland Hills, get in a gym sesh at Strouds Fitness in Hurst or Absolute Recomp in North Richland Hills, and always go to church. There are so many great churches in DFW, but to name a few of my favs I would recommend: I Am Church in Fort Worth, Keystone in Keller, The House in Watauga, Ovation in Burleson, Uncommon in Euless, or Bara in Trophy Club.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout The Lord and my husband, Seth Peebles. Without these two men leading me through life I would be The Hot Mess Express. I will always first and foremost give thanks to God and glorify Him in my successes. And shoutout my husband for choosing to be the cornerstone, Christ-like leader for our family and our ministries. I love navigating life alongside these men, and can’t wait to see what the future holds.
