We had the good fortune of connecting with Mario Herrera and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mario, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
The end goal for me and for Spiderweb Media is to build a legacy—a company that becomes synonymous with innovation, creativity, and results in digital marketing. I want Spiderweb Media to be recognized as the go-to agency for businesses that need more than just marketing services—they need strategy, direction, and a partner in their growth.

Beyond scaling Spiderweb Media into a household name in the industry, I want to create an ecosystem where businesses of all sizes can thrive. This includes expanding our services, building strong partnerships, and fostering a network that supports entrepreneurs and companies in ways beyond just marketing—whether that’s through education, mentorship, or new business ventures.

By the end of my career, I want to look back and know that I’ve not only built a successful company but also helped countless businesses and professionals grow. I want to be seen as someone who took risks, stayed ahead of the curve, and created opportunities for others to succeed in this space.

What should our readers know about your business?
Spiderweb Media is more than just a marketing agency—it’s a brand built on strategy, innovation, and results. What sets us apart is our hands-on, tailored approach. We don’t believe in cookie-cutter solutions; instead, we craft customized marketing strategies that align with each client’s goals, industry, and audience. Whether it’s SEO, social media, website development, or content creation, we focus on delivering long-term growth, not just short-term wins.

What I’m most proud of is the impact we’ve made on businesses. We’ve helped startups become established brands, turned struggling businesses into success stories, and given companies the visibility they need to grow. Seeing our clients succeed is what drives us forward.

Getting to where we are today hasn’t been easy. Like any business, we’ve faced challenges—market shifts, evolving technology, and the constant demand to stay ahead of the competition. In the early days, there were struggles with securing clients, managing cash flow, and figuring out how to stand out in a saturated industry. But every obstacle became an opportunity to adapt and improve.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that consistency and resilience are everything. You can have all the skills and knowledge in the world, but if you’re not persistent, you won’t make it. I’ve also learned that relationships matter—networking, collaborating, and genuinely helping others will always come full circle.

What I want the world to know about Spiderweb Media is this: we’re not just another marketing agency. We are a team that genuinely cares about the success of our clients. We treat every business we work with as if it were our own. We’re here to help businesses not just survive but thrive in a competitive digital landscape.

And as for my story? It’s proof that taking risks, betting on yourself, and staying committed to the journey pays off. I started with a vision and a willingness to learn, and today, Spiderweb Media is growing beyond what I imagined. And we’re just getting started.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d make sure they got the full Dallas-Fort Worth experience—from amazing food to hidden gems and classic Texas culture. Here’s how I’d plan it out:

Day 1 – Welcome to Dallas
We’d kick things off with breakfast at Snooze, an A.M. Eatery—because you can’t go wrong with their pancakes and cold brew. Then, we’d head downtown to explore Klyde Warren Park, walk the Dallas Arts District, and check out the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. For dinner, we’d go for some authentic Texas BBQ at Pecan Lodge in Deep Ellum. And since Deep Ellum comes alive at night, we’d hit up a few live music spots and bars.

Day 2 – Sports & Skyline Views
Since Dallas is big on sports, we’d take a stadium tour at AT&T Stadium (home of the Cowboys) or catch a Mavs or Stars game at the American Airlines Center if the timing is right. For lunch, we’d hit Rodeo Goat for one of the best burgers in town. Later, we’d enjoy the Reunion Tower GeoDeck for stunning city views before heading to Nick & Sam’s Steakhouse for a top-tier dinner.

Day 3 – Fort Worth Vibes
No trip is complete without visiting Fort Worth, so we’d start the day at the Stockyards, where we’d catch the longhorn cattle drive and soak up the Western heritage. We’d have lunch at Joe T. Garcia’s for some legendary Tex-Mex, then stop by the Fort Worth Water Gardens before capping off the night at Billy Bob’s Texas, the world’s largest honky-tonk, for live country music and dancing.

Day 4 – Outdoor Adventure & Relaxation
For a break from the city, we’d go hiking at Cedar Ridge Preserve or paddleboarding at White Rock Lake. After that, we’d relax at The Spa at The Joule for a bit of a recharge. Dinner would be at The Rustic, where we’d enjoy live music, great food, and an open-air vibe.

Day 5 – Unique Dallas Experiences
This day would be all about discovering unique spots:

Bishop Arts District for boutique shopping and cool street art
The Sixth Floor Museum to dive into the history of JFK
Velvet Taco for an easy and delicious lunch
Trinity Groves for an amazing dinner with a skyline view

Day 6 – Thrill-Seeking & Nightlife
We’d start the day at Zero Gravity Thrill Amusement Park for some adrenaline rush (bungee jumping, anyone?). Then, we’d hit The Truck Yard for some laid-back day drinking and food trucks. The night would wrap up with a bar crawl through Uptown Dallas or a trip to Legacy Hall in Plano for live music and food hall vibes.

Day 7 – Chill & Wrap-Up
To wind down, we’d have brunch at Bread Winners Cafe, then take a drive out to Grapevine for some wine tasting. Before heading to the airport, we’d stop at Emporium Pies in Bishop Arts for one last taste of Dallas.

No matter what, the trip would be filled with great food, live music, iconic Texas culture, and unforgettable experiences. That’s how we do it in DFW!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Success is never a solo journey, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support, mentorship, and inspiration from some incredible people along the way. First and foremost, I want to give a huge shoutout to my family—they’ve been my rock, pushing me forward even when things got tough. Their belief in me has been the driving force behind every risk I’ve taken and every milestone I’ve reached.

I also have to recognize the entrepreneurs and business owners I’ve worked with. Seeing their passion and determination has fueled my own drive to build Spiderweb Media into a company that truly makes an impact. Many of them started with just an idea, just like I did, and watching them succeed has been both motivating and humbling.

On a professional level, I’ve learned a lot from people in the marketing and business world—mentors, colleagues, and even competitors who have pushed me to think bigger, work smarter, and refine my approach. And of course, I have to shout out my team at Spiderweb Media. Without them, the vision wouldn’t be a reality. Their creativity, dedication, and belief in what we’re building together make every challenge worth it.

Lastly, I’d give credit to the lessons I’ve learned along the way—through experience, through failure, and through always staying hungry for knowledge. Whether it’s books, industry leaders, or hands-on work, every step of this journey has shaped the entrepreneur I am today.

So to everyone who has played a part in this story—thank you. Your support has been the foundation of Spiderweb Media, and I’m excited for what’s next.
