We had the good fortune of connecting with Maribel Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Maribel, what do you attribute your success to?
I feel the most important factor behind my success is my love for my craft. I believe when you love what you do it will show. I say that because when you love it you will put your heart and soul into it. It’s your baby. I always think of what my client would want or think. I ask myself if what I designed would be something someone would want.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a floral designer. Telling stories with flowers is what I love to do. To take a brides vision and make it come to life is what I love to do! I am proud of everything I have accomplished. Everything I’ve done big or small is something to be proud of. It takes a lot of work and dedication to make it all happen. It hasn’t always been easy, but I am where I am because of my dedication and support from so many others in the industry. I’ve built a few great relationships with other industry creatives and we support one another. Being a small business owner and a Latina business owner hasn’t always been easy, but it’s something I’m proud of. I’ve accomplished a lot and have been awarded titles I’ve never thought I would be honored with. I love what I do and will always do my best to tell the story my couples have envisioned.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would start off by going to have a relaxing dinner with drinks and music. I would take her to a seafood place called Bucky Moonshines. It has amazing food and a live jazz band and great drinks. We would also visit one of my favorite places. Louie Louie’s Dueling Piano bar. The rest of the time would be just hanging out chatting and just hitting a few little hole in the wall places.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There have been many people that have helped or encouraged me along the way, and I am so thankful! I am also very thankful to one of my biggest supporters…. Angela Webb. She is also in the industry. She owns Pretty Little Planners. She has supported me for years and has always lifted me when I felt like I was done with it all or encouraged me when I felt like my best wasn’t good enough. She has my back and I hers.
