We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcine M. Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marcine M., let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
“My legacy? Authenticity. I bared my soul on paper, revealing both light and shadow. If my vulnerability resonated with even a single reader, if it made them feel less alone, then I’ve achieved something lasting.”
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My poetry explores various topic, inviting readers to explore their own depths. It’s not just about rhyme; it’s about resonance- the power to bring images, feelings to readers. I’m most proud of the heartfelt connections forged through my words. When a reader says, “You captured what I couldn’t express,” my heart swells. Oddly enough once I decided that I wanted to write and publish my books the journey has been seamless. It’s like everyone and anything that was needed was right there. It been an awesome experience. I learned when I bared my soul, readers leaned in. Authenticity and vulnerability are my compass. My brand – The Phoenix Series I want people to know that words can heal, ignite, and transform. I want people to look at me know that even the rockiest path can turn to gold. 🙂
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When my best friend comes to town our go to spot is Epic Central in Grand Prairie. It’s a hidden Jewel. We love going to The Finch and Vidorra. It’s also always a vibe and the food is excellent at both restaurants
The ambience of the light shows at night is always a draw and its usually live bands onsite.
Trinity Groves is another place I love to hang out in the late summer/early fall when football starts to watch the games in the outdoor areas not to mention all the food vendors and restuarant in the location add to the great time !
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
To my incredible editor Joi Afzal, who waded through my words with a discerning eye, untangling sentences and coaxing out their brilliance—thank you.
To my graphic designer Richard Ruth, the magician behind the curtain: you spun cover art from dreams, stitched fonts into visual poetry, and made my book a feast for the eyes. Your creativity knows no bounds, and I’m forever grateful.
To my loyal supporters, the wind beneath my writer’s wings: you shared my words, left reviews, and whispered encouragement into the void. Your belief in my work fueled late nights and early mornings. You are the heartbeat of this journey.
