We had the good fortune of connecting with Mandy Lane and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mandy, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
When starting Lane Home Design, I knew my “why” would be helping busy families refine and refresh their spaces. I look at the design effort as a way to solve a problem for my clients. Planning a redesign and renovation project can be super overwhelming for some because there are SO many details to think about! But, I truly find joy in taking the stress out of the design process and in helping my clients navigate what will work best for their individual spaces. Because I’m a mom myself, I thrive on redesigning spaces by making them truly functional for families. Creating attainable plans with each client’s goals in mind, has allowed me to lay the path for successful partnerships. Lane Home Design is about creating clean, simple, livable spaces where you can truly feel your best “at home”.
What should our readers know about your business?
I come from a family of entrepreneurs and always knew that I wanted to own my own business. Thinking back as a little girl, I was always watching and learning from my mom and dad as well as my grandmother and grandfather who all had their own businesses. How they ran their business was with integrity and that is something that really translates into my business today. I am a firm believer in listening to my clients needs and goals, coming up with an attainable plan and following through with the desired end results. Doing all of this with integrity is key. My interior design business, Lane Home Design, is built on client relationships and referrals, so it’s extremely important to gain my clients trust in the beginning of the partnership. When working within others homes, it’s their “safe haven”, so it’s important for me to work with others just as I would expect someone in my position to work with me.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many fabulous restaurants in the area this is going to be hard! We always recommend Javier’s and Bob’s Steak & Chop in Dallas. Those are both just fun iconic Dallas go-to’s. It’s hard to beat the Highland Park Village area too with so many great restaurant options like The Honor Bar and of course fabulous shopping by many high end retailers! With kiddos in tow the Perot Museum, Dallas Zoo and Dallas Arboretum are definitely on the list. Venturing a little farther north in my neck of the woods, Legacy West is definitely a great option with a fun tapas restaurant called Bulla Gastrobar and then there’s more shopping too! We love all the Dallas sports teams so depending on the time of the year taking in a game is always a great outing as well. Last but not least hitting up great spots like eight|11 place in Frisco with live music in an outdoor setting is hard to beat!!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m a Christian and fully believe that God takes us down different paths at different points in our lives. For me, I started in the corporate world and was successful in my roles in sales & marketing for many years. During that time I had a wonderful mentor and boss whom I still have a relationship with today. She guided me “fresh out of college” as I was learning and growing while trying to navigate the career world. And then after getting married and eventually starting a family, I chose to go part-time for a while – eventually becoming a full time mom. But most recently, after thoughtful prayer and lots of signs, I launched Lane Home Design, an interior design firm, based in the North Dallas and surrounding areas. Along the journey into the design world, I have had lots of support and encouragement from the design community specifically from Luann Nigara, Sara Lynn Brennan and Michelle Lynne just to name a few! My husband, family and friends have also been such rockstar supporters for me as well!
