Hi Madison, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Honestly at the time I had no life prospects or anything going for myself . I knew I had a great hustle , I just wanted to be able to showcase myself as the boss I always dreamt to be . I always kept my nails done but I never loved them . It was always a struggle to find someone who was good . So one day I just decided to enroll in school and it was up from there . While in school I learned different techniques but Sculpture nails had my heart . After graduating I non stop have worked for 5 years to continue to grow and flourish my business and career. I have always known I was a boss just needed a platform and a skill I could master . Nails and making women feel beautiful and giving them a safe space is my number one goal in my business. I am just glad the money comes with always working to fulfill my dreams lol . The benefits of starting your own business are endless and I can’t wait to continue to make my enterprise . I’m so glad I took my first step and never given up .

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Aside from being one of the few sculpture nail techs in the DFW , the main thing that sets me apart from other nail techs is the fact I am myself and give my clients enough comfort to be themselves. Being myself and authentic has gotten me so far in this game and this business . I feel like sometimes as business owners we get so caught up in business mode we can lose ourselves to the hustle , the money , and the clients . I am a very loud and outgoing person and sometimes it can be intimidating to some but my vibe and aura are inviting to even a stranger in the street . I want to be a an unforgettable person in this world and to be remembered as someone who made everyone feel special. Of course with love comes pain and sometimes you can’t show that to everyone or make friends with people who just want to kill your energy and destroy your business. It was very hard for me at first to decipher the difference between a client and a friend and also build that boundary with my clients. Some people take your kindness for weakness and will run all over you . I have learned this lesson from business and live . But regardless of the bad times , trials and tribulations my brand . MadYams Nails will always be a invitation to any and everyone. The nerds , the geeks , the quiet , the loud , the insiders , and outsiders will always have a place in my chair and nails to match their personalities.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My top food places would be Birria cortez literally the BEST birria tacos in texas for sure . I’m a loyal and faithful customer for life . Also wabi house , their ramen is definitely the best in the city . Nobody is topping it or have I ever had any as good . Daiquiri Depot is one of favorites too . Probably some of the best fried food and drinks in the middle of the dfw. Drinks most likely we’ll be in the Gayborhood in dallas at sue ellens on a friday night . I love to dance and they definitely have all the vibes and music I need to turn up . There are always so many people there and everyone is themselves. I do like to go to rodeos and monster jams so if that was going on we’re definitely there or the lake . Joe pool lake is a definite favorite spot to jet ski and swim .

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to dedicate my shoutout to my clients and my family . Without my clients I am nothing and they are the highlights of my day . I love to service each and everyone of them and be the comfort they sometimes need . Thank you to them for trusting me with their hands every week . To my family those countless hours of hard work , crying , dedication, and of course almost passing out from nail fumes was all worth it ! I can’t wait to be able to give them a better life and the things we deserve. They are my rock and the support I need when I fall . Thank you for believing in me and my dreams !
